1. If you're a team leader, how would you improve collaboration and cohesion?
An interviewer can ask you this question to evaluate your ability to function as part of a team. Your response can also show the hiring manager you can solve problems at work. A good response can provide examples of work situations where your leadership and communication skills helped strengthen team bonds and improve productivity and results.
Example: 'As a brand ambassador, it's important to be able to collaborate effectively with my team to achieve a high level of visibility for our campaigns. Part of my strategy for maintaining cohesion is communication. I ensure everybody on the team understands their tasks and the campaign's expectations. I also develop a personal relationship with my team members, as this allows me to understand their strengths and weaknesses and match them with tasks where they can achieve maximum efficiency'.
2. How are you going to prevent negative social media comments and online reviews from affecting our brand image?
Negative social media comments can have an outsized impact on a business' reputation if there are no effective control mechanisms in place. An interviewer can ask this question to determine whether you have experience managing public perception and proactively engaging with an audience to correct misconceptions about a company. In your answer, you can describe strategies you can use to manage such situations, including examples from previous roles.
Example: 'Negative social media comments can be difficult to control if you don't catch them quickly. If you're always reacting to such events after they've spread through your network, you're only going to be doing damage control. In my previous roles, I used social media listening tools to track what people are saying about our company.
If I notice any spike in our mentions while the company isn't running any active campaigns, I quickly investigate, and this allows us to respond quickly before a negative comment spreads through our audience. I've always tried to resolve such issues amicably, including apologising privately and publicly to reassure our users we care about them'.
3. If a person puts a piece of merchandise in their pocket, how are you going to approach them?
This is an example of a situational interview question an interviewer can use to assess how you manage difficult situations. The interviewer can use your response to determine your level of assertiveness and problem-solving abilities. A good answer can explain your ability to read body language to know when someone is doing something wrong and describe scenarios where you addressed people in difficult situations.
Example: 'When you run campaigns with complimentary products and services, there are always cases of people picking some items. Most times, I simply approach the person and ask if they want a piece of the merchandise. If they say yes, I may let them keep it. Otherwise, I'm going to ask the person to drop it calmly, and this always works most times'.
4. Which influencer campaigns offer the highest returns on investment?
This question can help the interviewer evaluate your knowledge of the influencer marketing landscape. A good answer can include your participation in previous influencer marketing campaigns. You can also demonstrate your knowledge of measuring returns on investment and explain how to choose the right influencer based on budget and a target market.
Example: 'Influencer marketing depends a lot on how the followers of an influencer perceive them. In my experience, using several mid-level influencers, such as people with about 10,000 to 100,0000 social media followers, works best for low-budget campaigns. These people often have a strong community of followers that trust them and their recommendations.
Bigger influencers may have a larger number of followers and a bigger impact, but they're often very expensive and don't offer commensurate returns on investment. So, if I'm to handle such campaigns for your products, I'd rather spread the budget on multiple smaller influencers with a stronger followership than a single big-name personality with largely unenthusiastic followers'.
