good benefits -

Pay/job grade is not consistent across the company for the same type of work. Management is focused on advancing their own career before their reports, then they focus on the "favorites". Mgnt does not understand their reports' work, contributions, and the value everyone on the team brings leaving people feeling undervalued, but still we give 100 % and seek out ways to help the organization meet its objectives. Work being done is out of alignment with the pay. Yearly raises for the "worker bees" have been shameful especially compared to what management and executives are paid. Hardest part of the job is having to watch newer people, people who have no knowledge of the process under discussion implement "new" ways of doing things that senior employees-SMEs have voiced concerns about and have been ignored or have been tried before and failed, but have to keep quiet to avoid being a tagged as being stuck in old ways of doing things, a trouble-maker - so much money wasted when it doesn't work and workarounds have to be created -could have avoided. There is constant change now, software, people....always an upgrade, new software, new processes.

Pros

Benefits, variety of work in job.

Cons

Salary is not aligned to other 3M organizations, Management does not understand reports' work and value, favoritism, does not offer development suggestions.

Ridiculous work place

3m is a joke. Decent pay but ridiculous amount of overtime. You will work hard and not get rewarded for your work. You sacrifice a lot of your time for a company that doesn't care about you. You are just another number there. On top of that the company has a lot of unfairness to deal with. Way too much favoritism . Beware

Lots of forced overtime for no reason

Management doesn’t care about their employees. They try to pretend they want to help but do nothing when it comes down to it. They will require people to work over time 7 days a week 12 hours a day to make extra products. Then require more overtime when it all expires. Morale is not good all through out the plant doesn’t matter where you work everyone is unhappy. They do pay decent especially after all the forced overtime. So if you don’t mind never seeing your family this is the place for you.

Pros

Pay

Cons

Hard working teams across the site.

Employees come to work every day to get a lot of work pumped out the warehouse. Very impressed with the ability to make products so fast. Great pay, benefits, and leadership is trying to do better with recognition. Needs to have better tier meetings for communication.

Stressful, fast paced and negative enviroment

I dread going to work every day because the job breeds hostility, competition, and the like but management say we are a team. I am not alone, many workers have low morale and motivation because they feel like they are less than human beings because it seems like the company only cares about pumping out millions of cartons each month. We help them reach their goals yet don't even get a small share of the profit as a token of appreciation and to help boost worker morale and well-being which in turn will increase productivity.

Pros

Good Pay

Cons

short breaks, negative environment, poor communication, inconsiderate, excessive overtime

Favoritism and No accountability

This place has management all in a buddy-buddy club. They make sure the ones who get promoted and move up are people they all agree on and like. It's not fairly based off knowledge and who is best for the position. Lots of OT or no OT, never a good balance. You never know what to expect walking in, changes all the time. You get points for sick time and are overworked. Training is poor, anyone who is certified can train and no accountability for performance. Everyone is treated the same.

Pros

Good pay, good benefits, flexible hours

Cons

Favoritism, unfairness, overworked, no accountability, and no trainings department

Management doesn't care about the workers. Forced overtime constantly. The place is pure anarchy right now, production operators do whatever they want and management does nothing about it.

Challenging place to work

Not a well run business. 3M is very weak on operations and efficiency. 3M is more concerned about political correctness than treating everyone with respect.

Great pay easy work horrible management

If you don’t have kids or a life this is perfect for you. Expect to work a lot of mandatory overtime. A handful of lovely nice people but most people are very rude and will bury you in work cause they’ve worked there a million years and don’t care about you. Short breaks considering most people have a long walk just to get to a break room. Dont ever mess up either cause they will definitely belittle you for making a mistake and treat you as if you’re the only one to ever mess up something. Everyone’s on a power trip and management doesn’t care about your work/life balance.

Pros

Excellent pay and benefits

Cons

Horrible environment and management and overtime

DK6 building manager is horrible

I would never recommend this job to anyone. The pay is okay when you work your actual scheduled hours. We worked in the middle of the summer right when the pandemic happened. No haz pay, just a $200 bonus and a sweatshirt. Expect to work atleast 60 hours a week. Also expect to be forced to work saturdays and sundays. The building manager for DK6 is absolutely horrible at his job and doesn’t care about anyone on the floor and doesn’t listen to GOOD advice to slow down the overtime. He only listens to the engineers who literally walk around and don’t actually see what it’s like to truly work there. While upper management got a nice tidy $1000+ bonus for a good quarter, the us actual workers who made that happen for a box of generic popcorn. Expect to never see your family or friends again. Expect to be belittled by upper management for taking a 5 minute break to cool down from the intense heat and heavy lifting. Supervisors are usually angry as well because the building manager makes them deliver the bad news of another forced Saturday and Sunday. Horrible work culture. Just another big “bad” corporation.

Pros

None

Cons

Constant mandated overtime, Upper management has no morals or respect, short breaks, no accommodations for working in a 90 degree building 10+ hrs a day

Pros

Prime en tous genre / bon salaire / CE

Technical Service Analyst = Bad gig!

All in a day's work?3M expects you to support all of it's nearly 5k users on their flagship product but does not give the analyst the training to do so on an application that's very sophisticated. No training results in not being able to close tickets in a timely manner which counts against your stats. Training is always discussed during your monthly 1 on 1 with your manager. But that's the problem, It's all just talk. They really don't care about you as an individual trying to be successful... though they say they do. Bottom line here... I do not recommend the TSA position at either 3M location.

Pros

Fellow workers are great people.

Cons

No training for the Technical Support Analyst position.

Innovative, good benefits, good reputation with customers

I worked for 3M Healthcare for 30+ years. For the first 20 years the products were innovative and appreciated by healthcare professionals. The last 10+ years the group seemed to be a point where it rested on its laurels, and took the competition for granted. Significant market share was lost, and compensation with it.I was in the top 5% of the entire 3M sales force, a sales position called Account Executive. It is normally very difficult to achieve. In my case, I had achieved and exceeded individual objectives for 96% of my tenure years. In spite of this, it took over 25 years for this recognition to be acknowledged. And that is my main criticism of the company. If you are known as a person who speaks one's mind on behalf of the customer, and those fall of ears of management who doesn't care to hear it (in spite of it's statements to the contrary), promotion becomes more difficult within the sales organization. After achieving this ultimate objective, I left 5 years later with a bitter taste in my mouth for the corporate blind eye to being able to separate negative criticism for it's own sake, versus that that relates the voice of the customer.I retired at 60 and am enjoying the benefits earned over a long tenure.
