Air Liquide is a MNC with its Headquarters in France. It has diversified its business from providing of Industrial gas to large industries to many other areas such as health and renewable energy market. It will provide alot of opportunities as it continues to grow. I had a great time learning from the staff and from its business operations. The company is currently developing its operations here in SEA but should be picking up soon. Nothing is hard if you are hardworking and open to new challenges!

First Job, Learnt alot

When there is a huge project, it will be really busy. Workplace culture day-to-day is quite pleasant, most co-workers are really good to work with. I learned how to juggle many responsibilities at the same time. The hardest part of the job is when there is no project. The most enjoyable was when I could go along with seniors to learn new things.

Produce CO and hydrogen gas in the plant. Supply CO and hydrogen thru pipe line. Operate waste heat boiler and cooling water system. Hydrogen filling until 200 bar. Monitor and adjust control parameters in highly automated process equipment.

workplace is fun and calm because our workplace not alot of worker , our supervisor is very nice because he hear our concern . I have learned alot of technicial job about troubleshoot the gas cabinet alarm or error . The hardest part of the job is , when doing the dangerous cylinders change-out like flammable,toxic, and corrosive ,we need to maintain the safety of our self by wearing the proper PPE , fatality may occurs if we are not using proper procedure of job task .

I learnt the Administration of Oracle EBS on Windows Platform Management ------------------- Time Management,SOP,Workflow and Documentation for each issue Workplace Culture -------------------------- Healthy work environment,Chance to work with Functional,Technical and other 3rd party Application Owners. The Hardest Part of the Job ---------------------------------------- Initially face few issues at Windows, later we fixed and stabilized the env. The Most Enjoyable part of the Job -------------------------------------------------- When I fixed some technical issues with team help.

Tool-box meeting, preparation of maintenance work, gas & chemical delivery. Executing the work Safely & finish off all paperwork. Total gas & chemical management, monitoring,maintenance as well as logistics. Always gave me the opportunity to manage & lead the team. Eg, Took up the vacant Specialist position, Attend meetings & make decisions when site manager is not available. Co-workers were all professional adults & co-operative. To get uninterrupted supply of Gas & Chemical 24/7 without any incident. Featured on customer website & the company newsletter for making modification on the machines during trouble & avoiding interruption to the end users. Thus, savings millions of dollars worth on the wafers.

Challenging, yet fun workplace

Working as an intern in a chemical plant (Air Separation Unit) in Jurong Island was really an enriching experience for me, despite it being challenging at times. I worked with a team of very friendly and helpful colleagues who would willingly guide and coach me whenever I had questions bothering me. I enjoyed working with my colleagues because I felt that I belonged and that I could contribute to the team as a whole. The most challenging part of the job was to have to learn a completely new programming language from scratch at the start of the internship, and to have to develop a computational method to improve the plant alarm system performances at the end of the internship, of which was also the most rewarding part of the internship. Towards the end of the internship, I was selected to represent the company to Paris, France, as an international student ambassador, to present a business case at the Headquarters. This journey has indeed given me a lot of opportunities to work with people from all levels internally, and helped to hone my interpersonal and management skills as well, of which I believe would contribute greatly in my future workplace.
