Not a fun place to work

AMAZON is NOT the ideal place to work that most people believe it to be. The hours are long and grueling. Management does not treat us with the respect and dignity that EVERY EMPLOYEE DESERVES. FAVORITISIM is an everyday thing at AMAZON. It is NOT the company I thought it to be when I started working there over 2 years ago.

Cons

short breaks, disrespect, rampant favoritism

Run away as fast as you can

If you need accommodations, they totally leave you out to dry. They have an entire team that does absolutely nothing. They don't care if you don't get paid. This is a poor excuse of a company.

Not good

The schedule is horrible. It's hard to get to the location especially if you don't have a car. I literally saw people get fired for being 3 minutes late. There's not even a manager you can talk to about personal things- everything has to go through the app which is basically customer service (people who don't even know you).

What is the best part of working at the company? Some times after getting additional training you get an easy jobWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company? Not enough help on the line & trying to scan packages to the proper place while trying to keep the line going. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Loud machinery (electric motors) and some people are not very nice to work with. Very stressful only get a 10-15 min break and only one restroom per gender large yes, but only 1 at the front of the building. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Clock in find out where your supposed to be usually scanning on a line get your scanner (if there are any & fully charged batteries) go to the line & get to work scanning packages to their proper place once your shift starts. It is busy ALL DAY not very many SLOW days it's very fast paced

Favoritism.

PA's and Managers and their teams of favorites. If you didn't get a station you would either stand for hours or they would make you water spider your department or ship you out to other departments. They talk about switching up roles and taking turns so you don't consistently do waterspidering but they just lie through their teeth. They talk about how you make your own to success but want give you the time of day to learn new paths or give you opportunities to. I asked for almost 3 months to be cross trained and I was pushed aside. On-site HR is a total joke and mostly refer you to AtoZ app, managers usually only talk to people who they like other than that you are just a replaceable worker for a company who doesn't care. That's why they don't do real actually interviews for lvl1 workers. They hire like every week so be prepared to stand around or waterspider (or watch other workers sit on pack stations, play on phones or watch movies on their phones!) PA&Managers are total trash at amazon!

Pros

Free shoes, hair ties, disinfectant wipes, PTO instantly

Cons

PAs, area Managers, Hr, work stations available, hiring amount

What is the best part of working at the company?Good job for people in fairly good shape. It's usually very busy, my job and included lots of walking and stairs. 10 hr days. Good pay. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Being micro managed. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Fast paced. What is a typical day like for you at the company?I picked orders, sometimes you would move around a lot.

Awful place to work.

I've never seen a worse job than this. They will work you to the point your body will just give out and they don't care at all. It's a horrible environment.

The people who work at Amazon

The people at Amazon work really hard. And the PA help you if you want help with something. They have teenagers that are really no good at some of the things they have to do for their self.

Worst place I've worked

If you work hard at the beginning, you will be pushed for that target every day, and if you dont achieve it they'll begin to question you what is the problem. They have a thing called Incetive hour, where you can win more break time if you're the top performer, which is a joke, because you never actually get that exrta 10-20 minutes, because no one can cover you and other excuses. If you're away from your place for more that 10 minutes, you'll be questioned again..even if you only went to the bathroom. The people who have friends in the management can do anything /work super slow, go out to smoke, 20 minutes toilet break / without any problems.

Pros

5 hours per month flexi time

Cons

if youre good at something you still wont get promoted, if others has friends among the people who decides

Totally great job...

...if you're young, don't have medical issues, don't have kids, don't have to pay rent. Good opportunity for able-bodied workaholics, and people who want to later say "yeah I did that for two years..." and have people be impressed with you. I actually kind of liked it before I had kids, but after that it was pretty horrendous.

Very professional and productive with utmost safety priority and a clean environment

One of the best fulfillment centre I ever worked . You name it and get the results then and there for example Safety, Work Stations, Clean Masters, over all working environment, Ethics, Your PA's and Team Leaders, Floor Operation Managers remarkable performance, thats why Amazon on the top of customer service industry in the world.

Not recommended.

In my experience the culture at Amazon is all about productivity with zero concern for associates physical and mental well being, as well as frequent cronyism/favouritism, and double standards in what is expected of associates and how you are treated. Management and HR can rarely be reasoned with and have zero concern for how their decisions impact associates inside and outside of work. Shift patterns can include working every weekend for standard rate of pay. There will be little to no recognition for your efforts, yet there will be consequences for any perceived drop in productivity regardless of circumstances, especially for temporary associates.

I love working at Amazon and here is why…

The people…The training and opportunity to advance into other roles. Safety!“Today is just a start, tomorrow is what you make it”That statement is so true. I feel they really care about you as a person whether it’s being safe or having issues at home, they provide mental health if needed from day 1 along with many other benefits. You also switch up and get to do different jobs. There is not a hard job at this location. Our location is a sort center. Every age is welcome.

Fast pace and systematic

Fast pace work environment. You could advance to a higher position if you work hard enough.Very systematic and organize which I like. If you love tech you're gonna love it. Training on site and you could learn a lot of stuff. Very strict with violations doesn't matter if you already learned a lot of the different task and you work hard. One big mistake and you are out.

Pros

Safely focus

Cons

All about number and less about people

Solid wages, but hard work on your feet 10 hours

People complain on low wages at Amazon but sadly most companies out there are not paying inspiring wages for the cost of living. The real money can be achieved by banging in the overtime hours but then you feel you just live for Amazon. It's a high energy job, the company can feel toxic with regards to a smoke and mirrors approach with getting stepped up or down and people getting better roles with no transparency in the process. The work it self is so so. You are a cog in the machine but you do your best to keep your job and get paid. Now the site is settled there are a lot of lovely people and can be a good atmosphere many times. On a good week you get good variety, just do your job and go home and enjoy your time off. Off peak you get 3 days off per week so good amount if you can make the most of your time and not too tired. But there everything is so rushed even the half hour breaks.

Amazon.com Inc in a nutshell has gotten to big

Like many other companies can get consistent hours workload is dependent on what type of warehouse you work in. Management is always good they fit people based on the area the warehouses are built in. Hardest part is the lack of knowing how much work will need to be done for the day usually never more than 180K max. Typical day at work usually consist of 70-80K packages at a small delivery station.

Cons

Insurance Benefits, Higher Pay all around

Manipulative and full of bad employees

They will brag about the company’s success and make it seem like everyone will understand what it’s like being in your shoes. This is a lie. Once you start working, the majority of your coworkers will give you a bad attitude and micromanage anything you do even if it’s not work-related. Just ask yourself, “Why was I offered the job immediately?” They’re desperate for new hires because people either leave or are fired constantly.
