Bad Company Culture
Teacher (Former Employee) - Bukit Batok - September 10, 2023
Busy Bees just bought over many centres in Singapore but poorly manages the new centres. Staff from centres who were bought over by Busy Bees are not appreciated and valued. Culture at work is top-down management. Stressful as management is not open to feedback for improvement.
Pros
Challenging and fast-paced, able to learn.
Cons
Poor Management, Poor Culture, High Stress, Very Low Manpower.

terrible place, lots of backstabbing
executive (Former Employee) - East Singapore - November 2, 2020
Bosses expect you to be on call and ready to answer their queries 24/7 irrespective of public holidays. Fellow colleagues are scheming and waiting to see you fall.
Pros
like entering very upper class childcare
Cons
super long hours and lots of work

Fun workplace, requires a lot more team work especially with the class partners.

Healthy environment to work in. Depending on the individual centres, the management have different ways of managing the teachers and setting the culture.
Pros
Overall, a fun and loving place to work.
Cons
Have to take classes for level partners if they are on leave.

Micro management and stressful
Teacher (Former Employee) - Central Business District - September 2, 2020
Its all about work. Your boss expects you to bring home your work to do and yet does not provide any tools for you to complete your work in school. Loads of paperwork and all the time was used to conduct lessons and relief classes. Top management will not pay fairly.
Cons
Long hours, Micro management, etc

Great CEO, Ok Working Culture, Challenging Work
Acting General Manager, Executive Assistant to CEO (Current Employee) - Singapore - October 19, 2019
Inspiring CEO, flat hierarchy that promotes employee engagement. Not too robust HR system where employee performance is not rewarded accordingly.
Loved serving the CEO. She provides a lot of challenge and personal growth.

It's all about work only
Programme Specialist (Former Employee) - HQ - April 23, 2019
I have learnt a lot from my team colleagues who were always passionate about making the difference in children's learning and development. Unfortunately the organisation only recognised departments it views as profit driven, as such, professional team's effort to improve quality had not seemed to be recognised, and wellbeings of personnels in the professional team had always been neglected.
Pros
Lots of learning opportunities
Cons
Heavy workloads

Not conducive
Teacher (Former Employee) - Paya Lebar - March 16, 2019
No staff welfare, underpaid for this industry. Racism and biassness amongst staff. No increment after getting certified, treated unfairly although we have our entitlements

One thing you need to know about working here is that, majority of you will have to know how to be independent & must always take your own initiative. Dont wait for them to give you work. You must also be mentally prepared for the workload and stress as well.
Pros
No work on weekends
Cons

One of a kind
Early Childhood Educator (Former Employee) - Woodlands - November 22, 2016
A typical day at work would be welcoming the students into the center, pacified children that can't bear to let go of their parents. Follow by a daily routine timetable of assembly, activities, lunch, nap time and sending students back to their parents' arms.
I had learned classroom management, handle behaviors problems, conduct all types of activities such as Art, gym, culinary, storytelling, music and etc.
I worked with a great team.
The hardest part of the job is facing behavior challenges.
The most enjoyable part of the job is a simple hug from the students and appreciation from parents.
Pros
Free lunch, near home
Cons
everyday is a challenge

Global mid sized education company
Corporate Finance Manager (Current Employee) - Changi Business PArk - July 25, 2015
The role requires me to prepare analyse, verify and disseminate critical monthly and yearly financial reports, coupled with budgeting and forecasting responsibilities.
I have 3 subordinates, 2 accountants and 1 Account Payables.
I have been involved in preparing the documentation for legislative and statutory returns, including income tax and Accounting and Corporate regulatory Authority (ACRA) filing. My team and I maintain the general ledger and financial data to all levels of management and external stakeholders including advice on auditing processes and insurance coverage. I also have experience with mergers and accounting acquisition (IPO) in my previous role as auditor.
A key skills I have acquired is the ability to successfully implement and manage new accounting system and procedures. I enjoy the challenge of integrating a new system and working with wider accounting/system team to ensure a smooth and productive workflow. I have a proactive management style with highly developed communication skills. I have frequently been required to manage a team under pressure and enable them to meet strict deadlines.
