Slow promotion process

Several factors why some departments experience higher turnovers compared to others:1. Promotion: One of the most ridiculous, whereby you MUST achieve at least above average performance grading for 3 consecutive years before you can be put up for promotion2. Salary: Doesn't pay to be loyal even though you work many years with them. Increment is pathetic3. Performance bonus: Theirs is via a grading table, whereby one may receive their pb lower than their monthly salary

Personal exp based on dept I was assigned to: Expect office politics even if you are doing your job. If you are not in the main clique, you might not survive probation or will be sidelined.

Management and work culture could be better

Often rushing tight deadlines and much time spent on figuring processes out. Work processes are not very clear and you are thrown into the work to just do it. Most of the time need to feel and figure out the work yourself, supervisors not the guiding kind of management.

Its an extremely fast paced environment. Customers are not nice. Hard deadlines. You will definately overwork. Turnover rates are crazy. They no longer give you perm jobs.On the upside. You get part of your 13th month bonus every month

Political work environment

Colleagues who smile at you but stab you in the back. No teamwork within same section. Lots of red tapes. Supervisors who doesn’t recognise your efforts and doesnt fight for your rights.

Job security

Colleagues are great to work with, however the work scope can be very specific to the schemes you work on. Thus skills may not be transferable. Well-performing employees are overworked. Work life balance only if you don't have much to do.

A good environment as a first job

As someone who entered the Board after freshly graduated from Polytechnic and with zero experience in an actual working life, this place is a good place to allow stable growth with loving bosses and co-workers. For individuals like me who yearn for constant challenge and a greater exposure to social services, work can get mundane and non-challenging once you get a hang of it.

Restrictive due to nature of work

Hardest part of the job as with all Customer Service is Customer relations. It is made exceedingly difficult due to restrictions on what can and cannot be done given the nature of the company. Typically deal with close to 70 people in a day. If thinking about converting to a permanent role, will have to wait for quite long. Due to nature of job, get off work on time.
