its a 12-hr shift rotating of morning and night shift. i am a Team leader comes supervisor. faces challenges almost everyday. works closely with ICA, SATS and CAG. manning of manpower and breaks, dealing with incidents on ground. the enjoyable part is that working in groups at all posts. the hardest part is that the movement at changi airfreight centre is non stop and working on various weather condition. Lots of cars, lorries, buses and pedestrians to be checked. making sure everyone holds a valid airport or visitor passes. make sure no prohibited goods inside the vehicles or goods should be declared by ICA before entering or exiting cargo. i have learned how to manage a team, trained new officer, how to handle incidents immediately. learned how to answers for audits. detected various intrusions by APD, CAG and CERTIS quality management team.
Security officer have a chair right? We'll, not in Certis Certis. You will have to stand all day long, beg for a break and hope time pass fast. But none of this will work. You work 12 hours, have 2 hours break, but your legs beg for a rest, your toilet break also no one to replace and most importantly, time pass slow. The management is terrible, there's everyday reduction of people, in the end it's became a 1 man show. Resignation is the worst, make sure you have enough money in your bank, your salary may bank in next month.
Work pace okay, not much learning curve. Unsafe environment, vicious superiors who repeatedly cut you down and pick on you, reporting your perceived flaws to superiors and tainting your reputation despite hard work and dedication - not worth it and doesn't pay off. in the end you are retrenched merely from image. Everything else comparatively good and fair, except for superior personal bias and repeated attacks against a fair number of honest, hardworking individuals.
Cons: There's always people getting promotion for doing nothing.Promotion policy changes yearly.Pay isn't very good for the numbers of days you do.Terminal management love ball sucking people. Higher management look at figure only. Pro: Nice working environment. Some junior supervision people is the only one who understand you. Some nice coworkers. Some benefits is good for officers
Certis cisco protection services higher management don't take care of the welfare of the ground officers also the operation managers are rude,no ettics & have no professionalism.very bad culture.disorientated system & the lower rank officers are allowed to command, disrespect & do what they want infront of supervisors as long client is not aware of anything.
I enjoyed working in Certis Cisco, airport environment is the most lively and enthusiastic place to work. However i will not recommend Certis Cisco. Cause of their payment. And the floor management politics.
The company is good only to send officers for courses to upgrade some officers as a career progression but welfare wasn't well taken care of while feedbacks were being ignored and wasn't taken into consideration. Salaries wasn't paid accordingly and whenever there are discrepencies in salary, it wasn't revert back even after all required documents were submitted as a proof to point out on the discrepencies. The management don't take initiative to investigate and make comparison.
Seriously I won't introduce to people or my friend to work in certis Cisco .because I want to say this company is a heartless company never appreciate people hard work especially those senior people spent then whole life when they young working with them They ask people to leave and drop their salary. ...my friend is the one of them was being treated by them and I won't stay long in this company I
Middle management staffs usually under appreciated in terms of short/long term rewards. Limited progression pathway. Management more incline to reward based on inputs rather than outputs.
Most trainers are good, they’re working really hard and trying to teach us things. The food during training is terrible, especially breakfast. Also the environment you’re living in the academy is awful. The management is the worst, postponing your exams again and again, gives you no pay leave without any reason, sometimes they don’t even let you go out when you’re having no pay leave.
