Team member (Former Employee) - Singapore - January 16, 2020
Cognizant has lots of events and activities planned out and have good benefits. Able to learn lots of IT skills and experience the workplace culture of different client in Singapore. If given a chance to work with Cognizant in New Zealand, would definitely take the opportunity.
Not a good place to work. Regional based politics, grouping very common. There are many strict policies but policy breakers are high in percentage. All level HR people are very cunning, only provide show-off help. I am presently 4+ months in bench, they are hiring my profile engineers from outside but not giving me project/interview/opportunity.
Management are not really good. Higher up usually take on client side than you. Client is their highest priority.
No work life balance, was being assigned to lots of work.
Will need to learn to be independent in terms of completing the projects.
Client and PM have high expectation of us. They expect us to be a fast learner and are capable of handling difficult project when we are just a fresher.
PM are not understanding and hardly offer any help even though he could.
Thus, think carefully before getting into it and leave while you can.
Cognizant one of the best employer and has excellent learning programmes for individual upskills technically and professionally. Also the insurance coverage is one of the best as compared to peers.
Community Outreach programme is also a must to mention and service to community programmes are planned every weekends and some week days. Overall an excellent company
