Efficient workplace

Good teamwork. Get work going. We support one another in running training for staff locally and overseas for leadership in the bank. We also work with external vendors to run trainings to meet other needs.

Pros

Teamwork

Cons

Long hours

they value external hires rather than their own staff

Culture is the worst out of my employment history. You can join CS for the brand name but advise to find another job after a year as the yearly increment/bonus is very little/non existent. Don't waste your time slogging in CS as it is not rewarding.

Good work life balance and culture of inclusion

Credit Suisse is an equal opportunity employer, they believe in diversity in every way and mostly live by their code of conduct and ethics. Work life balance is good and management persevere to keep the moral up.

Great company with sound culture and fantastic team players

Enjoyed my work here. Learnt a lot and made good relationships with professional colleagues. Good systems, processes and global reach. Currently leadership team continues to navigate through cost pressures and innovation challenges due to weak macroeconomic outlook and headwinds faced by financial services as a whole industry.

Fun work environment

Am on a contract job however there is no job security on this. it is a fun and information place to learn new applications and roles as a PMO in the technilogy space there is a alot of changes within the structure and movements internally currently therefore the secuirty of the position is not safe.

Competitive work environment. Pays well.

My experience there is not typical. So I do not think it is fair to comment. Applicants should give weight to more recent reviews, if any are available.

Best Investment Bank I have worked for

Overarching culture is very team oriented, less competition, but encourages people to do things right and with integrity Would recommend it and if given the chance (for the 3rd time) i would return and give my best.

Pros

Very nice people

Cons

Not so big bank, so limited opportunities

Wonderful training opportunities

The thing I love the most is their wonderful training opportunities. 50% of management are open and approachable. They have a "buddy system" for learning on the job. It is a problem when the department has office "group clicks" . When individuals get alienated this can counter office productivity. They have a steep learning curve if you just started in the industry.

Pros

Wonderful training opportunities

Cons

Steep learning curve for newbies

A very advance company and work life balance place. A good working environment with great co-workers. Good benefits, lots of events and charity activities organised for the workers. Work are recognised, not only through your manager and peers but through other department colleague too. Flexible working environment and hours.

Thumbs Down

Overly rigid, overly hierarchical, old fashioned bank. There are no visionaries here, just politicians. This is not a place for those who seek professional development. A poorly managed institution who cloaks this by describing itself as "an entrepreneurial" organisation. If you are a blue-eyed Swiss you will be taken care of (politically as well as job security wise). Expect no direction from Management (MDs and Directors), as they are out to protect themselves and nothing more. The culture (as such exists) is basically a "free-for-all" where you sink or swim on your own. The pay is good and colleagues (VP and below) are great. A good place to park for a couple of years, collect a good salary and then move on.

Pros

Good brand on your CV, good salary, great colleagues

Cons

Poor management, way too much politics, "The Swiss Way"

summer internship

I only worked there for a month so I do not have a great understanding of the company. As an intern I took care of tasks such as quality assurance and I could apply it in my later career.
