Systematic
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Sembawang - September 25, 2019
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedDaiso is a very systematic and productive organisation. Stock taking, bar coding, organizing and replenishing thousand over items was an eye opening experience for me.
A Japanese firm is very particular about personal grooming, cleanliness, conduct, paying respect to everyone and result orientated hence had further enhance my social skills, customer management and sales techniques.
I have indeed learn how to manage a store from receiving goods to displaying it out accordingly, stock taking to cashiering, keeping the office & guest area clean and tidy to satisfying customers' needs.
The most enjoyable part of my job there is receiving compliments from the guests.

have to walk/run around in daiso a lot especially when many times customers come up to you and ask you about where’s this and that, but overall a fun working experience for students hoping to find a retail job, just that the workers aka aunties there gossip about each other alot lol

Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Chinatown - August 28, 2019
overall working environment is fine just that the older staff tend to take advantage of the new staff and practise of "bully" quite often. But not all are bad, some are quite nice and helpful.

Part Time Cashier (Former Employee) - Singapore - June 6, 2018
The timing at work pass very fast because the job of a cashier never stop as long as there are customers in the outlet. Being a cashier help me in increasing the speed of my work and at the same time, being very careful when dealing with money.

Long hours
Graphic Designer (Current Employee) - Singapore - June 19, 2017
Long hours for S Pass holders which is against the MOM labor law of Singapore. Very strict bosses and don't know how to value employees. Discrimination among other nationalities is strongly felt inside the company. Leave credits should be hardly earned.

Productive and very beautiful workplace
Cashier (Former Employee) - Singapore - April 29, 2017
I really enjoyed working in Daiso Singpore as a cashier beacuse all of the staffs and manager are very closed to me. They are all kind and nice people. I've leaned that work hard and always be prepared, never give up and once you get the job, give them more than they ever expected.

A fun working place
Part Time Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Kallang, S00 - July 19, 2015
A very systematic company. The company uses a thumb identification sensor to clock in and clock out.
They are very punctual in banking my salary. The leaders care for the staff. When it was time for lunch, the leader will made known through the pa system informing us to the office and dismiss us for lunch together.
When on the job, everyone of us were busy working and only during the one hour break we shared with each other and to get to know each other better.
The most enjoyable part of the job is ---- time flies. We begin work at 8 am. and when the eyes blink it is already 4 pm. Time to go home.
Because we were so busy in replenishing goods that we forget to look at our watch.
The hardest part of the job is to make sure there wasn't any run out stocks; especially those saleable ones.
I realised the Japanese wherever they go, they will bring along their culture with them. In Daiso here, I managed to learn a few Japanese word.
I believe culture is one very key component why the Japanese is so successful wherever they go.
Pros
very systematic
Cons
rigid
