Collaborative environment
Engineering Intern (Former Employee) - Telok - April 25, 2022
Work pace is comfortable although the amount of work is not less. Colleagues are very friendly and passionate about helping each other out. Welfare is always in place.

Helpful peers
Procurment executive (Former Employee) - DTTA - March 27, 2022
How much u learn and how happy U may be may depend on the type of bosses you worked under.. I saw some others are happy in their roles and workload seems manageable.. guess I was the unfortunate one.. haha
Pros
Mandatory to clock training hours with budget for it.. can learn something that goes a long way
Cons
Long hours, inequitable distribution of workload, may not be that fair in compensation considering the workload

Good place for internships
Intern (Former Employee) - Depot Rd - January 3, 2022
Was only there for a month as an intern, but the mentor was very nice and did not micromanage at all. We were allowed to explore and learn on our own. The environment was quite chill, although certain things can be troublesome due to security.

Experience as an intern, so mileage may vary
Software Developer Intern (Former Employee) - Singapore - December 19, 2021
As an intern, I'm probably given a different experience from fresh hires here, so take note, fresh hires. This was during Covid measures, so everything was done work from home. Typical day for me would be to just get on my personal computer and develop/run code. It was a solo project, so there was no collaboration to speak of. The main points of the internship were the weekly meetups with my mentor to catch up on progress. Personally, I prefer the social aspect of working in a group, so this experience wouldn't be the best fit for me, but I can see it being an ideal experience for someone who is more self-motivated and independent. Can't really comment on workplace culture, but senior admin do their best to engage the interns as well. As an intern viewing the relationships of the full time workers and bosses there, hierarchy feels relatively flat and amicable.
Pros
Nice work culture as intern
Cons
Intern experience doesn't accurately reflect actual working experience

Incompetent senior manager
SAP Consultant (Former Employee) - Singapore - June 26, 2020
Silly and incompetent manager (who is a president scholar) is dumb enough not to investigate or query why a staff has no laptop to carry out necessary work, and when seeing staff using the hand phone (which is used to check information over the web)

Structured learning environment
Program Manager (Former Employee) - Depot Road - March 11, 2018
DSTA provides a structured learning environment where engineers are trained systematically. The job work/life balanced leaves much to be desired but the salary and benefits are excellent.

Great teamwork and a meaningful job
Programme Manager (Current Employee) - depot road - June 20, 2015
My team members and I would meet up every morning to discuss the things we want to achieve that day. I aim to keep communication lines open and we will discuss anything my engineers, project managers put on the table. I will give guidance, set up what we to do and recap the day activities, i.e meetings I have to do..etc. This helps the team to grow very close to each other and strong as everyone is on the same page. I set a firm goal for myself and my team and once this is defined, we will take the necessary steps to achieve those milestones. I have a very strong team and this make my work enjoyable.
I learn new things everyday e.g. a process or someone else projects, no matter how small or insignificant the matter is, I am constantly growing. There are always a lot of technical and project sharing in my center. This helps me gain some insights of the right things to do and wrong things to be avoided.
Pros
Good training programmes to ensure you have to right skill set to do the job
Cons
everything is dependent who your bosses are and if you are in their good books
