Respectful culture, Good total rewards package
Company has been fantastic throughout the Pandemic with WFH and supplied IT along with a allowance for office furniture. Salary is good (but not fantastic) but with this you get a great work life balance. Career opportunities are there if you get the right leadership team to support this. Many have taken external training as well with college Cambria.
Pros
It, Pension, private health, full training
Cons
Market checks needed to keep pay in line

No work-life balance. No career growth, they dont help internal talents grow and prefers external.
Management (Current Employee) - NA - October 17, 2021
Work life-balance is being promoted by the company but senior leadership of the company does not care about it. It seems that work-life balance is only enjoyed by few. As long as they get the results they want, the personal time of their employee doesn't matter to think that most teams are skeletal in terms of manpower. In this company, rank and file employees will not have enough voice even if they collectively voice out their grievances. What matters only is the voice of senior leaders, that's all. If you plan to grow in this company, don't even think about it. They always prefers external rather nurture the internal talents that the company have.
Pros
Salary and benefits that is above average
Cons
No work life balance, Senior leaders tends to over work people and rarely act on employee grievances, No career growth.

Overall good place to work, lots of work to do
Manager (Former Employee) - New York, NY - November 8, 2020
Overall DTCC is a good place to work. There is a lot of new and challenging work every year, and it can be fast pace, more work, less resources, and extra work required. When I first started, Layoffs were not happening. In the early 2000's, that all changed, and now that is a yearly event. Usually at the end of summer or early fall. The Pay and Compensation is respectable. There is a good work/life balance. Management team can be hit or miss. They do care about the employees, provide a good working environment, and generally the tools you need to do the job. Most managers are great as far as flexibility and meeting family and personal obligations. Overall good place.
Pros
Lots of challenging work and assignments, and opportunities to work on cutting edge technologies
Cons
Yearly layoffs, ever changing priorities, heavy work load

Ok-company
Manager (Current Employee) - Jersey City, NJ - November 11, 2018
DTCC has a lot more to go with Diversity . They need to work on promoting within and not focus on promoting the same employees. If you have a good boss you will have the chance to work from home or flex time .
Benefits are expensive and not affordable . Complaining to HR does not work..it will only place you in the chopping block . Better to keep quiet !
Pros
Free Coffee
Cons
Work from home for the favorites. No growth-diversity radar is on the lower end scale .

Poor Senior Management
The Senior Management Team gas no clue on what really happens below their world. Too many mangers have zero “people” or “leadership” skills. They have no clue on how to build teams nor do they know how to treat their employees. Extremely sad state of affairs for a company with so much potential.
Pros
N/a
Cons
Senior Management

Overall good company to work for
A good company to work for overall. Benefits are decent and PTO time is fair. Bonuses are paid out each year but not at the same level/percentage as other regions.

Great Player in the FinTech Industry
Have teleworking program; however, many managers prefer to see you in the office even though your team are dispersed throughout the world. It's a cubical work environment unless you are an executive or managing director. To move up the ranks, you have to have to network with the 'right' director(s).
Enjoy the people, business process networks, the company's purpose in the industry, technologies, and managing directors that I've encountered/met.
Pros
Business Professional Networks
Cons
None -- However, I prefer to work from home versus be in the office every day.

Autonomy to be creative
Manager (Former Employee) - New York and Tampa - July 28, 2017
A typical day at work was assisting employees to complete assignments and resolving customers' complaints.
The most enjoyable part of my job was observing an employee succeed.
Pros
benefits
Cons
limited opportunities

Lots of Internal Opportunities but Heavy on the Politics
Management Level Employee (Former Employee) - New York, NY - April 18, 2017
If you are pro-active in your approach to your career, this is a company where you can find opportunities to move to new and interesting areas should you find your career has stalled where you are. There are many opportunities to learn and grow. But the politics is so thick you can cut it with a knife, there is an intensely siloed culture despite a management belief to the contrary, and all activities are ensconced in heavy beauracracy. Too much process management and not enough worker-bees to actually do the process.
Pros
Pays above market
Cons
Will overwork you to make up for those who got laid off

Jobs at DTCC
Manager positionsTough culture
manager (Current Employee) - Jersey City, NJ - January 5, 2016
It's not a bad place, but it seems like every year the company invests alot of money to address the "culture." Tens of people get pulled into the project which ultimately results in nothing. Culture, Billing, Onboarding, New Business, etc. all seem to follow that same cycle annually.
