Fruitful and valuable experiences

Indeed Featured review

I don't want to beat around the Bush and get it straight to the point. Knowledge is key here and if you know your standards very well you are like almost untouchable but you have to play the humble game. Very good company interms of career prospect and growth depending on departments. You will learn valuable experience. Extremely competitive environment and will be challenging and rewarding depending on what you want in life. Alot of safety implementation and systems that might be quite tedious and sometimes overkill. Management kinda like to play the blame game and fault finding culture. Can be toxic to an extend. Overall systems are in place to get the job done right and most importantly safely. No one gets injured.

Pros

Good career growth

Cons

System and culture

Overkill in safety

Operation technician for 13yrs and I still don’t find sense of belonging to this organisation. Overkill in safety, management all talk and no action. Many older management waiting for time to retired and would not be bother too much of the issue surface, rather just sweep it under the carpet.Allocate to old plant in Jurong island and seriously no confidence with the workplace for the next 2yrs. Load technician with a lot of jobs and with that rushing tend to make mistake. Technician always got the blame when thing go wrong, no scapegoat no end. If you looking for happy and enjoyable workplace, to avoid. The longer you stay the harder to get out.

Pros

Salary

Cons

Unhealthy Workplace culture. Technician always get blame when thing go wrong.

Leadership has lost its direction

Focusing on the wrong thingsDoes not give credits for hard/good workers - they call it your "base job"your performance is based on monetary terms- no matter how much effort you put in.Weak managers - poor understanding and communicationsimple safety concept took them 3-4years to finally understand the meaningMANY ARE LEAVING and HAS LEFT. These are people that walk the talk. not those that just TALK

Pros

giving you a job

Cons

does not ensure you keep your job

Nice place to work

Nice place to work but highly competitive and sometimes stressful too. Please think about your work life balance. Again it depends on position you are working for and location also.

Culture Shock

A new team will less safety awareness. Had a difficult time convincing the management representatives on the technicality of safety observation against risk behaviours by individuals.

ok company

Great to work for full time. Company is great but superiors are power hungry people who took advantage of contract workers.. Go for it if you are selected for a full time job....Contract job are those who doesnt have any job anymore and it is the last resort....

Competitive Workplace

Working with ExxonMobil may be a competitive workplace but it gave a full satisfaction due to the support from the Management and casual interaction within the Team.. At any point of time, your view and observation are listened and discussion shall be attended. You feel great at being responded to your needs. Consultation and providing feedback can be from Multi channels, e-mail, text messages or even the Observation card within the Project. Weekly interactions like, Mass tollbox. Monthly interactions with Top Management.

Pros

Open feedback

Cons

Long hours

Productive and multiculture workplace

This contract is interesting and I exposed a lot to different working style due to management team from various countries, such as America, England and Australia. Staffs and workers welfare good Staffs safety training and awareness are educated through out the whole construction period. Briefing from the management made me able to meet accounting deadline and able to work under pressure.

Productive

It's a good place to gain experience but it is very stressful depend on the unit which is assigned to you. Culture is difficult to adapt and get along. Pay, salary and benefits are very good. It's a good place to start and gain exp.

Exxonmobil are more concerns on safety. PTW plays an important role for any works to be carried out in the plant. Work culture I would say Exxon stands out to other Employers.
