Higher that average pay. Quite okay benefits

3 months aws and basic pays a little more than most chemical companies. Benefits include yearly medical check and 7 days compassionate leave. 12 hours shift work and and OT is not compulsory

Excellent Environment for Growth

A great MNC with great pay and environment. Need to be vocal to have exposure. Active participation in meetings are well regarded. Ranking system would be important for appraisal.

Good place to learn but heavy workload

Large work scope and exposure to a lot of different equipment and systems. Have to hit the ground running and pick up fast as there is too much to learn. Heavy workload is going to be a daily occurrence. Bonus structure is good though, 5-6 months bonus.

Toxic work environment. Well at least in the department I have previously worked for.

Can’t say for all but I guess it depends on the department and the people you work for. Toxic work environment, bad leadership and lack of teamwork among colleagues. Suffered burnout due to overwhelming multiple roles/tasks and at the same time having a micromanaging boss that sets high expectations. Overall, low morale at work.

Pros

Learnt various skillsets

Cons

Poor leadership, lack of teamwork, overall low morale

Bureaucratic, Political and Inward looking company

Too many man hours and job functions performing unnecessary internal processes. Very little focus on business development and business opportunies. P&L largely contributed from upstream E&P quity. Little efforts todevelope business for downstream business. To rise, you will need to focus on your increasing your visibility and network with management.Have multiple examples of people rising through the ranks simply but threathening to resign. Not a company for business development roles. Day to day focus on upwad management

Pros

Opportunites to hone soft skills such as networking, presentation and analytical skills

Cons

Long hours, no transparency, political environment

Used to be good. Now not so much.

Experience may vary as there are many plants and many different teams so I cant say for all. Benefits and perks used to be great. But now since mostly asian/local bosses took over, all thrown out the window.

If you are ambitious, this is the right place. Either you fly or you.....

The performance assessment has made the workplace very competitive. It is either you die or you fly. Due to heavy workload and competitions, you are expected to excel on your own.

Productive workplace

Enjoy working at ExxonMobil as the jobscope is very clear n the management is well organised. Able to learn stuffs that are out of my jobscope when I have the time. Only cons is that they can't offer me a permanent position as they do not have enough quota.

Lost faith in management

What used to once be one of the best places to work has quickly become a dooms place. Leadership is bad and it has killed the trust among employees. Whoever has a chance to leave is leaving.

Steep learning curve

Be prepared to learn as you progress—lots of tests. Management isn't as what they seem. You have got to be strong-willed because your colleagues aren't going to be empathetic to what you're feeling.

Smart collaborative people, terrible management process

Aggressive cost cutting in recent 2 years and very nonsensical performance assessment/ forced ranking resulted in good collaborative colleagues competing against one another and overall extremely low morale. Many very good, experienced people have left, and the attrition shot through the roof because many people were upset and disappointed with the management. Aggressive outsourcing of jobs to lower cost locations like India, Brazil and Thailand, so your job may not be here tomorrow. Even middle and senior managers cannot agree to what the top management are doing, but everyone is powerless to change. A lot of benefit cuts and pay cannot keep pace with market, especially for young people and those whose skillset are transferrable to finance and tech.

Pros

Good and smart people

Cons

Low morale, bad management

Niche Roles

I was with Exxon Mobil as a contractor. Advice not to join them as contractor as you are awarded with equal benefits like the full timers. The job you do will be quite niche unless you are able to embark on some job rotational plans for yourself.

Stressful. toxic environment. Poor leadership

Everybody thought joining one of the oil&gas “Giants” is a good opportunity to have a stable income and a good career prospect But, the moment you step in you can forget about a wonderful job experience here. Do not trust what you see in the video they posted on social media. Your careerpath depends on your management, and to be honest they have the worst and the most sadist leadership team ever.especially from the top itself and it is passed down all the way to the supervisor level. The management only think about their own portfolio and their achievements and they forgot to spare a thought for the people on the ground which is the ones running the show to make their achievements possible. Instead of recognizing the techinicians, they are too busy trying to penalised technicians to cover up their poor planning and poor judgement. 12hrs of shift is never enough to complete your job, they will squeeze every single drop of physical n mental strength in you to make you work for every single cents they pay you. You can also forget about work life balance. You will forever fill fatigue and ended up sleeping/resting the wholeday on your off days instead of spending time with your family. You can raise this issue or any issue to their “UNION” member and nothing will change. Last of all, there are no longer good benefits for the employees, they have taken away most of the employee benefits before UNION came into the company. If u have heard from your friends and people talking about EXXONMOBIL is a good company with a good pay and benefits, Trust me there are many more companies out -

Generally low morale

Generally good work life balance. Pay is very average. Intense cost cut measures. Smart and friendly people. Pace is slow with plenty of red tape.....

Depends on individual experiences. I do enjoy working inside (most of the time) and disappointment (at some time).

I do shift and field (manual) work. I treat it as a form of workout to stay healthy. I enjoy it but everywhere you go have pros and cons... I am fine working in this company.

Pros

Salary and other benefits are above market rate.

Cons

I guess because of its salary and benefits, it is very competitive inside and created some unhappiness or office politics.

Very well plan and constructive manner

Safe workplace, lost prevention plan, task access, analysis and good action plan. Lesson learnt from past experiences and implement better and best practical assessment. Review and analysis before take action if any change of circumstances or abnormal situations.

Pros

Monthly project breakfast, provided meal in lunch meeting

Cons

Long working hours

Fruitful and valuable experiences

I don't want to beat around the Bush and get it straight to the point. Knowledge is key here and if you know your standards very well you are like almost untouchable but you have to play the humble game. Very good company interms of career prospect and growth depending on departments. You will learn valuable experience. Extremely competitive environment and will be challenging and rewarding depending on what you want in life. Alot of safety implementation and systems that might be quite tedious and sometimes overkill. Management kinda like to play the blame game and fault finding culture. Can be toxic to an extend. Overall systems are in place to get the job done right and most importantly safely. No one gets injured.

Pros

Good career growth

Cons

System and culture
