Fast pace and high workload and during this period have learn to be more agile and be prepared with all sudden change workload , the upper management could be more sympathy with store situation and provide sufficient support to store team.

Easy Job but Toxic Environment

Tasks assigned are really easy and simple. (no-brainer job)- Folding clothes- Hanging - Cashier dutiesMy experience:For part timers schedules are given less to none per week even if you had given a full week of schedule including weekends they probably give you 1-2 days and that results in a low pay of $6-$7? Work culture:Full timers are very toxic. They love to gossip and slack. Certain lazy full timers would pass their workload to part timers before heading off to either chat with other full timers or head off to the store room for a break. Full timers will have their own cliques and they usually engage in verbal attacks to individuals, especially to part timers. I was once bullied by them and that made me feel unmotivated to go to work as I have a sense of fear and insecurity. Part timers:Mostly local students, they are friendly and inclusive they don't engage in this toxic behavior. (Most enjoyable part of the job)If things were to change, they should educate their stuff to be more professional and competent as everyone (full timers and part timers) are doing similar tasks. They don't have to show that they are superior to one another.

Pros

Easy job scope, friendly part timers

Cons

Toxic work culture, incompetent and unprofessional full timers.

Tiring

Worked as a part timer. Basic employee benefits like staff discounts & uniform allowances are great but can get better pay elsewhere. Long working hours.

Work Life Balance

Company believes in promoting from within which sounds good in theory but the reality is that a lot of corporate staff were recruited from the stores and may not have the right skill set or professionalism for the job.

Pros

Discounts

Cons

Limited career growth

Friendly but low pay

The people there are very friendly and helpful. When they see new comer they will try to help out. The overall vibe working there is not bad just that i wish the pay can be higher for the workload. The shift is quite flexible for part timer

Fast paced and stressful

The pay is really too low compared to other retail outlets. The pay depends on the day that you work. Higher pay means sacrificing your weekends. It really isn’t enough when there is a high workload. However it is quite flexible once you work and depending on the outlet you work at it can be either toxic or fun. The amount of pressure may be a little too much at times especially when dealing with fussy customers. Most of the times there is a lack of manpower especially during closing which makes it really tough. Nonetheless a good experience for students or first time workers if you don’t mind the low pay rate.

It was a good experience

I had a good experience, at times my tasks proved to be challenging but the other times they were mostly fun, talking to customers, having friendly coworkers. I was not making enough in the branches in Singapore, and had no overtime opportunities, I was unable to stay working at the company because of financial reasons. I would've commited to the company if I was paid more.

Pros

Great culture

Cons

Low wage

Cosy, and comfortable environment

It’s my only best and enjoyable working experience with this company. It’s great working with some others from the head office personnel, very well versed in their work scope at a very fast pace environment.

Pros

Timing very flexible, managers very nice and understanding

Cons

Only 15mins for part timers with only few hours work

Values based organisation

H&M emphasized a lot on values based on their 7 values that form the culture of the company. TRaining will be provided to you but it is mainly inhouse training and no external training as they believe a lot on internal.

Fun workplace

It was very fun to work at H&M as the staff were all very nice and this made it easier for me to adapt. The environment at H&M was very chill as the managers there were treating me like a friend. Overall, H&M is a fun and chill place to work at.

Laid back company

H&M has a laid back culture. Given that it's in the fast fashion scene, one of the perks at work is there is no dress code, which makes it different from the usual corporate outfits you wear to work. Another perk was I got to travel, albeit too frequently. This travel arrangement will work ideally for individuals who love to travel. If you have a family with kids, may not be that ideal.

Overall experience.

It was a great opportunity for me to learn about the customer service industry and to be a part of an encouraging team, it was more than just a job. It was a learning journey.

Fun workplace

I worked in H&M for about one month and it gives me a good experience of what it is like working in a retail industry. The most important lesson that I learnt from this experience was attitude and customer service. Whether the customers will purchase or not can be influenced by how they experienced the customer service provided and this has taught me how to approach customers in a better and more comfortable manner. Retail industry is also fun where staff can express themselves by the way they dress and some efforts that they do to improve the shop overall.

H&m

Working as a part timer at that time, $7 is too little comparing the workload we had to bear. Hours wise was alright cause it was pretty flexible for us as it’s depending on our availability

Fast paced environment

A very fast paced environment with friendly coworkers. Tasks are rotated throughout the day. Management could be improved. There may be mistakes and clashes regarding the monthly schedule. However, it can be rectified if informed.
