Lack of Work & Life Balance

Not a bad place to work if you dont have much expectation.. However not a right place if you are looking for progress and career. It may depends on yr HOD, certain department are easy on giving promotion while other department dont bother on your progress, in this case dont stay for more than 2yrs, its not worth it. Many trainings related to the company cultures, some are elearnings that eat up yr personal time as you cant do it during working hrs. Some classes are conducted outside working hours as well, even briefings and meetings also outside working hours depending on yr shift,, all without compensation. Work related group chat also keep going on during & outside working hours, if you work as office staff you can keep up with little issue but if you are operation staff you may need to wait till yr break time. The break time is only 45mnt and sometimes you cant enjoy fully when HR conduct something during those time at canteen. Salary is not bad, but when you consider all the extra hours you spend you would feel that its not worth it, I enjoy worrking here and at the same time the thought of leaving is easily come from time to time. The management is trying to show appreciation to the staffs which is a good effort though they can be nitpicking too which can be frustrating sometimes. Working at a 4 stars hotel under Shangri la chain can add a bit of mental stress when some guests have the expectation of same hotel facilities & services of the Shangri la. Thankfully not all guests are delusional. Some guests really make my day which gives fresh air on a hard day
