Great culture

Overall great culture and leadership cares. Beware of new middle management coming in from other companies that aren’t as empathetic or adaptable and used to little to no work life balance cultures

Micro-managed sales environment where there is ongoing favoritism

A typical day is spent in meeting with your manager who will repeat the same rhetoric that is spewed to them from eladership. Weak management team who have a frat mentality and don't want to learn. High sales turnover and over saturated sales team with nonexistent opportunities.

Pros

Fair ramp pay

Cons

No real opportunities so most reps fail. Lots of buzz words but not effective leadership

Accepting & Nurturing

HubSpot is a great place to work. The management team is always available to assist you with anything that comes up. They are also very hands on and encourage you to explore other departments and positions that you are interested in.

Good culture, needs a little help

I was surprised to find that a company as large as HubSpot would offer such tight knit teams. While I worked on a large team of hundreds of sales people, my day-to-day was condensed to a team of less than ten people. We were able to really get to know each other, and I felt fully supported by my coworkers.Their policy on unlimited PTO was a bit hard, as my manager took ample time off (over the year I worked there, she was out for a total of 3 months.) This led me to feel ill-prepared for the day-to-day work, however my team was there to help me. It felt like some people were able to take weeks off at a time while others were stuck grinding throughout the month. PTO is hard in general for sales so I don't see this as a HubSpot specific problem. There definitely is a culture in sales to sell as much as possible whether you've reached quota or not. There was a month where I was at 120% my quota and was expected to still close deals to make up for others on my team that had not hit their quota. While this can feel really rewarding when it comes to commission, it puts a lot of pressure on individual reps to produce for others.I did have issue with favoritism within my team. Management definitely appeared to favor and thus, give more opportunities to those that had been working at the company for longer (when an unrouted lead came through, it would be given to people on the team that had worked their way from SDR to AE. I understand that trust is built in there, but it felt like they were constantly being given an upper hand to closing deals that others weren't afforded.) The -

Learned a lot and got burned out

Almost everyone I worked with directly were supportive and kind. I learned so much about the product and troubleshooting techniques, and my confidence working with customers really grew in my time here. However, the Customer Support Specialist role became unsustainable for me. After the layoffs in January, morale shifted across the board and a cloud of uncertainty only grew heavier over time. We had fewer people to help customers but the same, if not greater, volume of customers needing help. In the end, I didn't feel valued by leadership and understood that I would only ever be represented by quantitative metrics, and the consistent quality service I was providing to their customers would always be overlooked when considering me for a promotion, raise, or application to another role at the company. The variety and complexity of technical issues we are expected to help customers resolve does not match the compensation received.

Inclusive and Excellent culture

HubSpot is a wonderful place to work. The salary is great and you are recognized for your hard work. The company culture is great and built on the tenets of Using Good Judgment at all times.

Pros

Remote

Smoke and mirrors

Work-life balance does not exist at Hubspot if you are in sales. They tout unlimited PTO to pull the wool over your eyes in the interview process, but once hired, PTO is increasingly difficult to take as they do not offer quota relief. You are still expected to hit their astronomical quotas each month even if you take time off.Training is a joke. You get ZERO training on product during your actual training period. It is a total waste of time. You are instead told to learn product while on the sales floor and to do it after hours.Burnout is severe, even for tenured reps.

Pros

Pay is decent, but not worth the stress.

Cons

All of it.

Toxic employer that pretends to be employee centric

The title says it all pretty much. This place is such a terrible place to choose to work at. I worked here for about a year and was laid off with 500 other people. Sr leaders said it was due to the economic challenges but yet they had a record-breaking quarter.

Amazing Work Environment

I could go on and on of how much I loved working at HubSpot. Unfortunately, I was laid off however I would go back in a heartbeat. They are so welcoming, so diverse, truly care about you and your family. Easily able to work from home with your family, extremely flexible, and such a loving community with people who care! Unlimited PTO and no meetings friday! It was the BEST!

Great mission, great people… but ….

Great mission, great people —- one of the smartest, but not sure if leadership actioned on the core principles of the company. Great benefits - remote work, unlimited PTO, global week of rest

They are there own worst enemy

Hubspot isn’t the mom and pop it used to be. Though it’s a good product currently, I don’t see it sticking around. As an employee, you are set with high expectations with little to no reward. Told by mangers you are not doing enough when those managers have very little weight themselves in the critiques they give. Hubspot wants to brag about their culture when really it’s used as an excuse to overwork people. They are good listeners, but rarely act in what actually needs to be done.

Overall great working experience

This is truly a tech company that will take care of you. The work is definitely challenging, but the nature of the job keeps it interesting. The culture, team, leadership and overall environment is outstanding!

Customer support

Unlimited PTO and week of rest are nice. Coworkers were great and nice to work with.Metrics are too high, low pay per industry. Too many layers of management makes it hard for change to happen.

Great work environment but not that great internal mobility.

I feel very fortunate to work here because the people and the culture are amazing! I always feel supported but there is a struggle to get internal mobility to move out of my current role which is unfortunate because I love this company but now feel inclined to seek opportunities elsewhere (compensation is not the greatest as well).

Fun Workplace Environment, Little Pay for the Work Expected

I enjoyed my time at HubSpot, with an excellent workplace culture and great coworkers. It often felt like the perks of the office were there to hide the low pay, however.

Pros

Beer Garden, Free Food, Excellent Coworkers

Cons

Long Days, Small Salary for Work Expected.

It's alright

The people are great, honestly the culture surrounding HubSpot is quite amazing. I really love the people I work with and have nothing but nice things to say.Compensation is somewhat lacking. Career path becomes very unclear once you reach Senior Engineer. Work can be pretty stagnant, same old problems, same old solutions over and over again. Most days I just feel like a code monkey.

Pros

People are great

Cons

Work could be more intersting
