Teamwork is very much so established in the workplace, with meetings 2-3 times weekly to be briefed on projects and its progress. Proper training was also provided to hone certain skills required for the job. The management believes in work-life balance and hence, overtime is not common. There will also be company lunches and workout programs available to participate for a small fee.
The good things Great working environment. A lot of helpful colleagues. Good amount of overtime given. Break timings given is quite fair. Quite easy to understand the production process. The challenges Retrenchment is of course normal. Chasing for output with parts still on shortage. Management should review with individual employees on new contracts and better offers. Since manufacturing sector if growing strong this year, it is going to be competitive with talents being on demand. And the best way to retain employees is to at least discuss with them on what they need to be of added value to the company.
- Do the same thing each day. Assembling and other ad-hod duties. - I learnt how to work well in a team. Building different types of wire-bonding machines. - Management very demanding yet not thinking about the employees. - Workplace culture is very fun as there are interactions between the people. Day at work would not be boring. - Hardest part of the job is meeting the demands of the managements yet it was still manageable. - Each and everyone of the employees played their part in ensuring smooth production and quality outputs.
Easy to get food.
Very fast paced environment.
The people are very friendly and helpful especially to newl employed. People are caring and management is approachable. There is even a recreation committe that organised activities outside of work like bowling and tabke tennis competition and charity bazaar.the work could tough at timea bit the environment makes it easy and worthwhile.
Fun working environment, especially working with colleagues with the same rank. the more you learn , the more you easy to work. The boring part when the hiring rank ask you to do work, but they themselves never do work. Play games and talk alot. That's one of the reason I'm quitting. Teamwork is not there.
Alot of confusing instructions
A normal working day consist of assembling a certain part of a bigger machine. Learned how to assemble a big machine from scratch and using different kind of tools which is required for the job. The management of the company was very professional and all the employees needs and feedbacks were taken into consideration. Learning entirely new things about assembly line of a big company and figuring out how to use the tools very the most challenging part of the job.
Consist of 3 shift, first shift start at a godly 6.45 am advantage is it end work at 3.15pm. Very suitable for part time student with night classes. Second shift is good for those late riser it start at 2.45pm and end at 3pm. Fun time people will work this timing because you get to wake up late and have a bit of night life. Most importantly bosses are not around at the second half of the shift.Third shift got no boss around most unproductive shift you can say but you cant say there are not working because they are. You will usually go in through agent and become their temp staff. Associate engineer is the job title but you are just an operator. Typical company that follow rigid hierarchy. You might sometimes wonder how their team leader(TL) become TL when they dun have any people management skills. I would recommend this job if you are waiting for NS or Uni or anything else just to pass time and earn money. They pay according to certification and OT rates is really good. If you are thinking of building career with this company I guess this is not a place for your to stay. This company turn over rates are high. Every year around November they start hiring and around September they start retrenching. The company first language is their mother tongue first shift they are mostly conversing in chinese. So if your are malay of indian in first shift. Goodluck bro! Pretty racist comapny join it you will know why. No democracy at all work instruction pass down even if it doesnt make sense you still have to do. Question back you will known as rude and hand over to STL. STL also - more...
start super early rigid hierarchy
A typical day at work would be doing the normal routine of checking individual machines. The job is smooth when machines are scheduled on time, but mostly, staff would be assigned with tasks when it's nearly time to end work. So it's always very rushing. Co-workers are very helpful and friendly. No issues on that. Management wise,is quite unfair as those on graveyard shift would have to do more outputs.
Allowance pay for night shift
Work-life balance is bad. Management should consider priorities over own needs
