Senior Manager in HQ

Too huge an organisation
The company is huge with a work force of more than 6000. There are a lot of groups and divisions with too many bosses each having their own style of leadership. Therefore, whether your stay in the company is pleasant will depend on who is the boss. The division and management team which I came from was wonderful until the change of management 2 to 3 years ago. It is now toxic place to be in. Since January 2021, 30% of the staff left. Senior staff are leaving, newbies are also leaving within a year. There are so much empty promises made to staff just to coerce staff to keep doing more. To make things worse, effort put in were often wasted. This is all because bosses just rush into doing what their bosses want and did not do a thorough thought over before pushing tasks down to staff. Bosses are yes men and could not advise their bosses effectively. They do not appreciate advice and recommendation from senior staff. Any advice that are not pleasing to their ears are considered negative and these staff will be brushed aside. Their philosophy is it is good that old staff leave so that they can bring in new staff with fresh idea. Some bosses are constantly plotting to remove staff whom they felt are not standing in their side.

Okay work life balance. Decent salary for fresh grads. Job security is there. However, sometimes the work can be fast paced. Overall it is a decent organisation to work for.
