I gained a lot of learning opportunities and had a chance to grow and learn to become a better person. As such, I would recommend this company to everyone.

Unresponsible

Due to the Merck company's mistakes (Poor design), the employees lost their ability to work, but in the end Merck company chose to dismiss the injured employees, let alone the employees' future family livelihoods and medical expenses. On the contrary, employees who make mistakes can be protected by the company. I am very grateful to the Merck company for giving me a valuable lesson in my life.

Very healthy work environment

-People have each others back and there is collaboration between departments - you are not expected to work overtime and there is good work life balance.

Fun workplace

I learnt about working in a team and the workplace culture. The most enjoyable part about the job is having helpful teammates that I've created special bonds with throughout the years. The toughest part of the job is the manual work in the daily operation as well as juggling shift work with part- time degree course.

历史悠久但结构较繁冗

350年历史,架构矩阵化不利于有效沟通和协调。组织结构经常调整带来团队稳定性问题。但发展机会比较多元,薪资待遇不错。

Pros

Cons

架构经常调整团队不稳定

Good place to start off career.

• I am an industrial key account manager, specializing in F&F industry, who process knowledge of products that support the workflow of the industries. I work closely with various customers to effectively retained profitable relationship. Aside from that, I also collaborate with other business functions and oversea counterparts to consistently improve customer satisfaction by providing expert resolution of conflict, issues, and concerns. Designing and implementing marketing & promotional campaign is also my responsibility. • Through working in Merck, I've gained substantially in both professionally and personally. • Merck provides pleasant working environment with endless opportunity to improve oneself. • The most challenging part is the recent reorganization which led to unclear workflow. • The recognition from the management when I perform in an opportunity is very encouraging.

Pros

It is a very friendly and pleasant working environment to work with

Everyday needs to review batch sheets, lab testing reports and release them in the system. On top of that need to prepare reports to keep track of different job activities KPI such as "Right First Time" report of the month in order to trace how many errors was committed by the production workers and lab chemists report when fill in their batch sheet and lab reports respectively. Other tasks such as help to solve problem together with production workers and lab personnel when there are lab test results or production manufacturing cannot meet the quality specifications. It is a great, friendly and pleasant working environment as I have learnt to communicate and work with different departments to solve the problems together. Though some problems require longer periods to evaluate and correct it, however eventually we manage to overcome it.

Pros

Friendly and effective working environment

Cons

Need to go back to production area after office hour

Productive and fun workplace like a second home.

As an administrator my primary job is to manage the paperwork and support the engineering personnel to make sure that day-to-day business runs smoothly and that the company is able to meet certain defined goals. In nearly every context, the job involves four main functions: communication, coordination, daily administrative tasks and long-term planning. In my vast years of working I have gained experience in the setting up and maintenance of the plant documentation systems and the ability to apply a wide range of workplace skills, including the ability to work creatively with others, apply critical thinking and decision-making skills, communicate clearly, collaborate with others and access, evaluate, use, and manage information effectively. The worst part of my job is trying to communicate with the employees who work on night shift. It is very challenging to coordinate purcahsing and timesheets with them as well as any leave requests or doctor's notes. The difference in schedules can be problematic with that. I prefer to not call employees when they are off work and vise versa. Getting necessary paperwork from our field operations staff can also be challenging. If they are in the field all day, it can be difficult to get the papers turned in and processed correctly. The best part of my job is basically being my own boss in many ways - I'm given work to do and given space and freedom to get it done. I have a lot of responsibilities, but I don't have someone constantly looking over my shoulder to monitor my work. I have a wide variety of things to accomplish, so each day is -

Pros

Good work life balance, good pay and benefit. Recreational club and subsidised meal

Cons

The company is currently downsizing, no job security.
