Teaching is hard work and fast-paced, but brings about much satisfaction. You need to prepare your own teaching materials and resources. Admin work can be massive too.

Productive and Progressive Personal Learning Development
Being a Teacher means being a leader and role model to our students. We do our best to provide students positive feedback to encourage and help them develop an appreciation for Physical Education and enjoy a lifetime of healthful physical activity. Within our department, we always work hand-in-hand to ensure all avenues of the curriculum are met and lessons are delivered smoothly to our students. Challenges we faced daily is the balancing of the different learning needs of our students. Some may struggle with picking up technical sports skills and need extra help. Some learn really well and are able to work the problems out on their own. At the end of the day, when we are committed to passing knowledge and skills to our students with passion, instilling joy of learning to our students and they do learn well; this is the greatest form of satisfaction.

Allied Educator (Teaching & Learning) in Secondary school in Bukit Batok estate
Ministry of Education
This role is a poorly designed opening by MOE especially for mid career switch personnel. This role is without opportunity for a career path and advancement due many grey areas and ambigous KPI assessment for promotion. At the same time, the AEDs were expected to fulfill the role of a teacher in schools, without the competitive benefits and remuneration package.

The Enjoyment of Teaching
Although we start our day earlier than many professionals, it gives us great fulfilment to see our students enjoying our lessons and have fun in school!
Our management is constantly being supportive of what we do and give us advice and directions when we need help, and that's our culture - the culture of Care.
The hardest part, which is also the enjoyable part is to put in the extra mile to help the students in reaching their goals and seeing them succeed in life!
