Much effort was spent in training and support for curriculum implementation.

The Ministry of Education through Education Officers provide much support for school leaders. Communications systems were also well established. As such at all times there were avenues for receiving and giving assistance.

Pros

Job Security and benefits

Cons

Long hours, inadequate technological, human and physical resources

Fairly productive work place

Teachers' day out.Every teacher attended. It was two days before school opening. It created an idea of oneness among the staff members. The spirit of team work grew well just before the beginning of the term.We went to a resort place out of town, sat down, enjoyed breakfast, had some games and finally came back for lunch.During lunch,we discussed issues to be sorted within the coming school calender. It was very productive and cleared away grudges within other staff members.Such events are often very productive. They encourage teachers to stay focused on the job. Moreover, they come closer as a team and dissolve factions or groups within themselves. As long as teachers oftenly go out together, have fun and later discuss issues to do with the day to day running of the school, they stay motivated and assist each other as one people striving to archieve the same objectives and goals

Pros

Free lunch-motivates the teachers and keeps them energised

Cons

long hours-strain the teachers and makes them less productive

A competitive enviroment

It is a busy environment with many files to check each day. The public comes in frequently for job letters and other matters. We also have a roster for servicing the public at the Counters on a weekly basis I have been working thirty three years without a break in service therefore I believe I'll stay until a pensionable age

Pros

Pension

Cons

Job security

A learning and Teaching context highly depends on Proper planning from its Leader to its Staff to make daily learning and teaching each day successful

A typical day of work as a Head of an institution is usually upon arrival signing in checking on the early arrivals into school, taking rounds around the classrooms checking on the early arrivals working on the morning work prepared by all staff. Making sure that all rooms are opened, neat and tidy for the day and making sure that the time is used wisely once these small Infants arrive in school. After that I usually wait at the front gate to greet Teachers, students and Parents. Also monitor the arrival of transport school bus, taxis or private vehicles dropping off students, 9.00 am sharp lesson begins at 10.30 am recess time , 12.00 pm lunch time and at 2.30pm end of a school day. As a Christian school it is a school norm, on the first day of the week and last day of the week school assembly is conducted in the mornings by the school Deaconess. The school caters for 933 children with only 23 Teachers, 3 teacher aides and 5 ancillary staff, This is the Biggest Infant school in the nation catering for only years 1 to year 3. Year i has 7 streams, year 2 8 streams and year 3 - 7 streams. The class ratio was 40:1 which is very high. The most hardest part of the work in this teaching context is student dismissal everyday whereby at times we the staff usually wait for parents till late in the afternoons. The most enjoyable part is the extra curricular activities like swimming and excursions. The beauty of this type of this institution is the fact that they are so full of innocence at this stage 6 year old to 8 year old. They do not pose any behavioral problems thriving -

Pros

Yes school provides not only lunches but breakfast too. to students who need it.

Cons

As already mentioned above:- waiting long hours, communication break down, attitude problem of parents, lack of teachers communication skills

teaching and fun

The day I taught in seven classes, to be hardworking is good because it safe someone in ways you can imagined. Coordinating all those classes is not an easy task for if you're not hard-working you can cope with it. The good things about it, is the interaction that went on. The children were challenging and that is the part i love the most, because for you to know how well you thought your student should be challenging.

Satisfying and meaningful. Working with young kids.

Going to class, delivering matter prepared well is very much fun. The eagerness in pupils eyes to learn something new is priceless. Guiding pupils to discover new concepts is amazing. Challenging part is working with children who are having difficulties at home with no one who takes care of them. Orphaned and vulnerable children, who often come hungry with a lot of problem from home find it hard to learn even if they want to. Most eventually drop out due to many reasons. It's painful to you as a teacher. Most children need love and attention once that is done, the relationship between teacher and pupil is always good. Mutual respect and not taking kids as unimportant people makes them love and respect you as a teacher.

Pros

Seeing pupils make it out of poverty and make something of their lives. Holidays every term.

Cons

Less money, too many students in a class, no working resources

teaching is the most giving job teachers are the nations builders

Teaching is lovely job You deal with young people who are pure and hard workers to build their personality So they need a lot of knowledge and good behaviours - habits - attitudes It is a hard job also needs too much preparations and at school and out of the school But success is the joy of the teacher When his lesson is well done and successful and when the pupils pass the exams and show the correct behaviour in between
