Limited learning experience

Worked with people of different nationalities and had opportunities to learn from the other departments. But my direct managers are usually very busy so was not able to learn much from them.

Jobs at Nestlé

See more jobs

Uhm.

You know, for a promoting job that pays $10 an hour, I'm awfully surprised by the fact that I have to memorize a lot of information and wasn't even aware or asked by my job recruiter that lots of heavy lifting are needed to the point I went home like an hour late, due to setting up of the displays and all. This job position isn't very beginner's friendly and you need to find where the stocks are, calculate the customers' receipts, take notes of specific criteria, write different abbreviations on the receipts, and learn how to set up heavy display equipment. If that's not tiring enough, you would also need to bring back the display equipment, and boxes of stocks all the way to the back of the supermarket and then count them before you finally get to go home. This takes an hour after your shift has officially ended. It's just not it for me.

Pros

If you think $10/hr is a lot?

Cons

Micro-managed, heavy lifting, lots of stock-taking

Hierarchical and unfair work place

poor management, absolutely no guidance at the start of the role. Left to handle and figure a lot of things on your own, manager does not know what she's doing and hence led to poor instructions and guidance. Blame pushing is very frequent, even to lower executive staff. Unfair pay, no work life balance - often having (and expected) to OT. No recognition of work, 0 respect given to you.

Pros

Cons

Terrific Work Culture

Everyone is extremely open-minded with the willingness to help one another in their projects amidst their busy schedule. The company promotes a work hard, play hard culture by providing welfare for the efforts its employees have put it in acknowledgement of the good results.

Poor management

A workplace full of politics. Management staff make poor decisions. Poor work life balance. hardly any advancement but there are plenty of learning opportunities.

Productive and fun

Nestle's culture is generally a very healthy one. The work environment is pleasant, supportive, and collaborative. Nestle seems to do a good job of consistently hiring good people; they are honest, nice people- solid citizens.

Reputable MNC company.

Like the flexi working hours there although many a times you cannot leave the at the earliest stipulated time. At least still can leave on time. Must install more 'human' aspect into the Human Resource management and to some managers.

Productive & enjoyable work place

Flexible working hours, understanding and supportive supervisor & colleagues. Job tasks are assigned properly on a weekly basis. Hardest part of the job would be being overloaded with samples in a day but the most enjoyable part is that you have colleagues to support you and guide you to manage your time better.

Internship at nestle

I feel that being an intern at Nestle has taught me many things. Even though it’s a big company, the environment still feels like a big family where by they try their best to give their employees everything they can.
