Overworked and underpaid

Appraiser (Former Employee) - Denver, CO - November 6, 2020

Every man for himself mentality. Management offered no support. Managers consistently bid low fees on complex assignments. They are still working on creating the template software and database from scratch, so there are a lot of bugs and crashes that make each assignment take at least twice as long. HR blatantly ignores emails.

Respectable and Comfortable Workplace

You are able to get your work done in a fashionable manner without people constantly breathing down your neck, but if a problem is to appear there are plenty of people willing to help you understand the issue.

Seem like a fun place to work

At the beginning it seem like a great place to work. I was hired for NYC office . Started in Irvine , CA ,where the Finance and Payroll Dept . is located so was my supervisor. After two weeks of training on Oracle HCN cloud based payroll, which interfaces with ADP E -time for tracking hours and attendance ,i was back to NYC. Well, after returning to NYC office when i was just about to settle down , Newmark went thru a reorganization and moved my position to Irvine ,California..... at least that's the story i was given in writing. NYC office environment was very good, I was looking forward to develop and continue my professional carreer there! But some times things happens in business...we all need to move on.

The Pittsburgh office of Newmark Knight Frank is a family. I worked in this office for nearly 36 years (4 years were spent with another company) and grew up with a large number of the employees in this office. Average tenure for nearly half of those in my immediate department is 35 years. As long as time wasn't abused, there was flexibility and understanding if traffic slowed your commute, etc.

Hostile Environment

The Help Desk mgr is the worst mgr I’ve ever worked with. He’s hostile plays favoritism and sets you up to fail. This is definitely a hostile working environment and would never recommend it!

Not a great place to work

Really and truly this is a place just for a paycheck, at least Newmark Knight Frank Multifamily Florida. Hostile environment, unrealistic deadlines and poor use of employee strengths and skills. Also, lots of Micromanaging.

Fast paced work environment at times

Cut throat industry, and could be fast paced. Deadlines were often and harsh. Didn't have the best company culture. You work for the brokers and provide them with whatever they need. Management was your superior and HR, and no one else. It was difficult to communicate effectively with everyone there. Overall, great pay and benefits, and a decent work-life balance.
