Okay Place to work
H-vac tech Apprentice (Current Employee) - Hartford, CT - April 4, 2019
A typical day at my job is doing your PM's or receiving a service call from someone around the building. The list of things learned is short seeing that your not always doing h-vac work your also doing maintenance on things around the building. The hardest part of my job is knowing that I'm not going to be learning much in my field of work.

Mismanaged
Senior Financial Analyst (Current Employee) - New York, NY - April 1, 2019
Treats their employees like garbage. No structure. No training for new programs that get rolled out. Inconsistency throughout offices. So many tools to do your job, but NONE of them work properly. If you're not a broker, you're not important. Health insurance is absolutely TERRIBLE.
Basically:
No structure, takes advantage of it's employees by constantly adding new tasks and workload without compensation, not competitive pay, poor management, not a challenge, no career advancement, no training, and company does not want to spend money on much needed employees
-Disconnected management
-Unclear leadership structure
-Lack of flexibility
-Low employee to broker ratio
-Heavy workload
-Company overs up any misconduct, gender/racial discrimination
Pros
good teamates

Great place to call your work home.
Lead Engineer (Current Employee) - Austin, TX - March 20, 2019
I've been working with NKF for 2 years now and i love the staff I work with. Management is GREAT, they are very understanding and supportive we all work together seamlessly. If you have something come up at a moments notice you have support to help with coverage, so you don't have to worry about a back log of work upon return. I could not ask fore a better place to work. the benefits are industry+ pay is competitive, PTO is very good with vacation time sick time as well as personal time and 2 floating holidays. I could not ask for more. the ability to grow and promotion opportunities are well above standard. After the time I've been here I have a very hard time thinking about going somewhere else to work. we truly do work as a close nit group, it is very family like.
Pros
Management, Promotion opportunities
Cons
having to leave due to moving.

Little to no culture
Director (Current Employee) - Chicago, IL - February 11, 2019
Everyone works in a silo and they are stuck in the 90's when it comes to today's technology. They could benefit from some strategic team hires, not just individuals.

Tenant Broker
Tenant Broker (Former Employee) - Washington, DC - February 5, 2019
I was responsible for cold calling and identifying tenants who wanted representation on their real estate leases. I assisted in putting together presentations to pitch our companies strengths and how we could best assist them. I worked on a team with 3 others and we all worked hard to help everyone else succeed.
Pros
Team Environment
Cons
No Medical Benefits, Commission Only

Quick and easy temporary job
Data Entry (Former Employee) - East Hanover, NJ - January 14, 2019
It was a Temp job but it was very easy to get used too. Took part in taking surveys of the campus. Six times a day, for four weeks. Management was very helpful on teaching you the basics.

Spurts of work
Transaction Coordinator (Former Employee) - Washington, DC - January 10, 2019
Company was only okay - people did not interact with each other outside of their teams serving as a very boring day at a desk. Most people were friendly if you took initiative to actually talk to them but other than that no one ever reached out.
Pros
Awesome work space
Cons
People were cold

The place to be if you want to work in commercial real estate in Sacramento. Usually need to know someone to get in the door. You will learn a lot if you work there.

Fantastic place to work
Property Accountant (Current Employee) - Pittsburgh, PA - December 18, 2018
Wow... I just read the one-star review left by the Property Accountant from 2014, and all I can say is that it must have dramatically changed since then!
What is true is that you are kind of thrown into it with no formal training. For me, I was given a handful of accounts to work on from three different people, but they were all gracious when showing me the ropes. I took lots of notes, and learning the different systems isn't too difficult. They have MRI for Windows and an older version of YARDI. Neither are terribly complicated to learn. You will need to function of course in Outlook, Excel and Adobe. You are going to print A LOT and do what feels like a lot of redundant duplicate tasks. But, well that's accounting for you! No, no one is going to give you step-by-step instructions. You need to be comfortable learning new things and taking some initiative in the Property Accountant Role, otherwise go back to doing data entry somewhere (bleh!).
The managers are all pretty laid back, and everyone working here says the same thing: As long as you get your stuff done, the bosses don't bother you.
I've worked at some places where every teeny mistake is treated like the end of the world, but it's not like that here. Everything is triple-checked, and if something is wrong, you just fix it and move on.
Pros
Pretty laid back for a corporate environment.
Cons
No 401(k) match. What gives?

Beware of Management
Building Engineer (Former Employee) - Alpharetta, GA - September 24, 2018
When I started working for this company it was pleasurable.. then new management came in and the company went to sideways. Management never takes timeout to visit properties or tenants and does not know much of anything.
Pros
Was a good company to work for once upon a time ago.
Cons
Prejudice and no integrity.

Maintenance Manager
Research & Development Delivery Service Manager (Former Employee) - Midland, MI - September 12, 2018
This is a contract maintenance company that will say "yes" to any would-be client so they can get the account. This was one of the worst companies to work for and one of my worst work experiences ever. They had made many promises and when you confronted them about it, they would not even answer your e-mails. If you are looking for a company that has no communication skills and no direction, then this company is for you. I packed up my office things at the beginning of the year because I wasn't sure what day I was going to walk out and quit. I literally hated coming into work every day. Needless to say, I do not work there any more and I feel great!
Cons
Lack of management and lack of communication

Mismanaged, unorganized, unsupported
Senior Managing Director (Former Employee) - Chicago - September 6, 2018
Thug culture management. Smaller platform than promised and the company's goals are very LA & New York-centric, ergo not much interest in supporting/growing other offices, like Chicago. There are some very talented and supportive people there. The compensation, at least for brokers is fair.
I learned that accomplish much more when I am working in a team environment, which Newmark just doesn't offer.
Pros
no rules
Cons
no support unhealthy culture
