Need to have passion for teaching.
L2 ENGLISH TEACHER (Former Employee) - Singapore - October 1, 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe most enjoyable part of the job is the kids. They're usually the reason why you stay. Management is okay. Most of the HQ people are friendly. However, if you're working under a centre, you have to hope and pray that the principal is not biased. Politics is high; if you're not well-liked by your principal or colleagues, prepare to face difficulty. Very judgey people in general. Most of the time you will not have time to do paperwork during working hours. Preparing lesson plans, weekly plans, children's portfolio, lesson materials, learning corner materials, will have to be done during nap time(provided your kids are okay), or after working hours. Be prepared to give in your entire life with not much progression. Have to be recommended by principal to become principal (refer to politics above). Your pay will most likely stay about the same (max 3k) even after working for 10 over years.
Pros
Free lunch, good medical benefits.
Cons
Long hours, need to do work outside of working hours, high workload, high stress.

Not the best preschool to start with as a trainee
Childcare Teacher (Former Employee) - North Singapore - October 10, 2023
Had the worst experience with MFS among the other CC I've worked in and regretted that I've started out my traineeship with them. The pay was extremely low for a trainee teacher (less than 2k) even with a degree and there were conflicting guidelines in the contract that we were actually told that we need not report to centres (unless manpower crunch) should it be a non-work day. However, the centre principals were not in consistency with the HR, so while the lucky ones can use this time to do their assignments, the minority of the cohort had to work. I was rotated around 3 centres during my stay with MFS due to manpower contingencies, and such shuffles were quite demoralising. I didn't had good principals, as they were either quite temperament or no sense of empathy, and I'd seen one barking at the staff till she cried in front of all the teachers. I recalled during Sparks, a group of us were asked to stay back at the centre till 2am and the next morning having to report to work at 7am. If you ask me, I will not be a preschool teacher if I were given the choice again.

Infant Care Teacher (Former Employee) - Bishan Park - July 21, 2023
There are two types of membership available – Ordinary Branch and General Branch. If the company you are employed under has a relationship with their respective union, you will become an ordinary member under the union. The union will represent Ordinary Branch members in wage negotiations and workplace

Lots of professional development but no clear jobscope
Lead Teacher, English (Former Employee) - Ang Mo Kio - May 26, 2023
I like that the company believe in sending teachers often for professional development. However, would love it if the company can have a clear set out outline of job scope instead of getting one teacher to do the job scope of 3 people, especially in smaller centres that are often overlooked.

Big Spacious Environment
Teacher (Current Employee) - Sengkang West - February 16, 2023
company is good with attractive benefits. Sometimes working on a Saturday feels like a chore. Apart from that, environment and colleagues make the workplace fun and bearable.

Good paying role but at your own risk
Principal (Former Employee) - West Singapore - December 4, 2022
Good career development and progressive pay scale, provide curriculum support but too ambitious in projects. It depends on the RO of the area as well.

Overall feedbacks
Relief assistant teacher (Current Employee) - Singapore - November 22, 2022
Love to take care of children, hence I enjoy my work. Always an achievement to me if the children enjoy my company and listen to me. The job is very flexible. The pre schools I worked has good environment and the teachers are very friendly, helpful and understanding. The only thing I want to feedback is the hourly rate is too low. Hope Ntuc First campus Co-operative will look into it. Thank you

Too much paperwork
English Teacher (Former Employee) - Clementi - November 18, 2022
Teachers are burdened with a lot of paperwork to bring back over the weekends. Curriculum keeps changing, causing confusion amongst teachers. Salary doesn't commensurate with the workload.

Great company
Playgroup English Teacher (Former Employee) - Singapore - March 31, 2022
Colleagues are great and supports one another. The team works well together, it was a challenging and tough time with covid but everything went well as time goes by. Amazing company but the educators are overworked and there are too much paperwork both in Skoolready and Educare side.

Lots of opportunities to learn and grow but can be very overwhelming.
Lead Teacher (Former Employee) - Singapore - February 18, 2022
A lot of learning opportunities and room for career advancement. However, work load is too heavy and does not match the pay that is given. Having a good RO helps but a bad RO contributes to the high turnover rates of teachers.
Pros
Training opportunities, Training sponsorships, Fulfilling to work with young children
Cons
No work-life balance at all, work on weekends up to 12am during sparks, redundant paperwork at children's expense, Documentation just for show, Pulled out of class to do RO's paperwork, LT ends up not teaching the class despite main jobscope LT end up not teaching the class.

Fun and approachable
Preschool Teacher (Former Employee) - Singapore - July 8, 2021
I've been in NTUC FIRST CAMPUS for 6 years and I can say that it is worth it of your time and effort. The culture, the salary, the children and the bond that I had with the management and with my colleagues were excellent and awesome. So better try to work at this company because it is highly recommended.

Its a good place to build your career
Educator (Former Employee) - North Singapore - June 30, 2021
Depends on your RO. Some RO are good some RO are so so some RO are meh. Good RO = good colleagues = good culture happy working If you cant fit into the culture it will be difficult for you. Need to have a good mindset when joining there. Give a few weeks, you'll get the hang of it. Paperworks? It will keep increasing but its good for your experience.
Pros
Good benefits. Alot of trainings to upgrade yourself
Cons
Paperworks

Don’t expect work life balance. Benefits are general, dont expect much Depends on leaders, if you get good ones you are lucky. Leaders will listen to your opinion.
Cons
Long hours, no work life balance
