Workload depends on the team that you will be assigned

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Workload depends on the team that you will be assigned. Colleagues are helpful. No growth and no career advancement. Always need to work on weekends. Long work hours.

Great career advancement and training opportunities

For those who are interested in stocks, commodities and insurance (all types), it's the perfect place with all the experts onboard. However, it can be confusing and too stressful for newbies as they are not catered to only one product/brand/insurer, you have to do more homework and research . E.g. insurance- compare benefit illustrations across all insurers instead of just selling one.

Colleagues are nice

Colleagues are nice. They provide work life balance. However salary are much lower compare to the market rates. Overall this is a good environment to work in.

Busy but fulfilling

The job provides comprehensive on-the-job training compared to the big companies. A good environment to learn many interconnected and consequential events. Inevitably, it sets a different culture and working habits compared to big companies. The work volume can be demanding but the sense of satisfaction can be high once one gets a hang of it.

Management don't know what is going on

It's a place for retirement. Do not go there if you have ambition. It all depends on if your boss is willing to teach you. If not, you would have to learn everything yourself.

Pros

Long lunches

Cons

May not learn anything

Great place to learn stuffs

- prospecting for customers - learned about insurance and investment - time flexibility as it was a self-employed role - the hardest part of the job is to be able cater to clients' needs as and when - most enjoyable part is being able to assist clients in their financial needs.

Flat hierarchy makes day-to-day work easier

It's not too strict on seniority and rankings. Everyone is treated rather equally. Pretty laidback culture, however there are some strict kpis to be met. Salary and benefits not strong but job security is there.

Pros

Free medical, 18 days annual leave

Cons

Salary below market rate

Good Work Life Balance

Very good place to learn because many job scopes are consolidated to one person. Sometimes this results in lack of focus. Forgiving environment. Unfortunately salary is not marked to market.

Pros

Work life balance.

Cons

Non competitive salary/benefits

office politic was minimal to almost none existence

Colleagues were humble, nice and helpful. A good training ground for fresh graduates or interns to learn the insights of financial services industry, employees were more than willing to share their expertise. Training was heavily imposed and employees were encouraged to further their studies.

Challenging but Rewarding workplace

It is a workplace where you can contribute your ideas and make it happen. My colleagues are good and supportive. There are many departments and channels which are very hardworking and productive. We all work hard towards achieving good results for the Company and want to be disruptive in the marketplace and be No 1 in areas we are present.

Flexible working hours

Review clients trades and prepare for trading activities of the day. I learned to be independent and gained experience in managing clients accounts and handling difficult clients. The workplace culture is free and easy because I am very much like running my own business. The hardest part of the job is getting clients to trade but the most enjoyable part is when they made the first trade.

Pros

Flexible working hours

Cons

Adverse market conditions
