The Executie Directors are accessible and proposals from the rank and files are considered seriously for implementation. While opportunities are available to take on existing projects or start up new initiative the resources are seldom sufficient nor forthcoming. A typical day at work for an aspiring executive in Phillip Securities begins before 8am and usually ends after 8pm. Committee meetings are dominated by the Executive Directors and the Chairman who sit on most of them. Taking on new or existing projects usually the project will develop slowly due to the lack of resources.

My current position's main focus is to provide oversight and direction in the implementation of business development strategy for sales channel of 250 stock brokers. Main KPI is to grow the strength of and productivity of the sales channel. A typical day will entail planning and organizing of campaigns and initiatives with other departments or buiness partners towards the growth of channel sales and sales representatives. Frequently interaction with upper management providing feedback and contributing to policy development as part of the role of being channel head has presented much learning opportunities in terms of effective business strategies and perspectives. I would need to provide oversight to ensure marketing and administrative support is delivered promptly and effectively. By being hands on in the operation of the channel and business development initiatives have provided valuable experience and insight into the finer points of management across department and businesses. Working with co-workers and business partners across the spectrums is the most enjoyable part of the job.
