Flat organization with no direction
Staff (Current Employee) - Bukit Merah - June 28, 2022
I'm really impressed with how invested SAA is in your well-being and career growth. Getting project approval is indefinite and project completion is most likely a subpar quality. Fancy titles come easily, regardless of one's skills and knowledge. The flat organization structure allows the leaders to abandon control and let the structure run by itself. They focus on increasing sales and expect the teams to continue to perform and know where they are heading. People are generally nice, but some are the total opposite. SAA feels like they are really living in the jurasic era.
Pros
fully stocked pantry, dnd, flat organization
Cons
God complex attitude, poor management style, travelling time

No mentoring, High expectation
Architectural Executive (Former Employee) - Bukit Merah - October 12, 2021
The mentor would directly say that it is not his/her job to teach you this/that. You are not supposed to request fro a specific task or move to the department as you are not in school. Paid job task is something that is absolute, no room for improvement, no advancement through courses or transfer.
Pros
D&D and in house food caterings feast if you love food
Cons
Expect Dinner with colleagues and return to work

Productive
responsibilities Architectural Tender Lead (Former Employee) - Singapore - June 27, 2020
SAA is a challenging place for international architects. Very competitive, full of creativity.
SAA is good practice platform for junior architect and designer and a place for life long learning area for architectural practice.
Having good working environment for international practitioner.

Architectural company
Architectural (Current Employee) - Singapore - August 19, 2019
The company is established and reputable. The work culture is flexible but not corporate. Management is approachable and follow hierachy i.e. top down. Although feedback is allowed, not much is done to follow through on problems/issues. There is little/no system the way things are done and weak support from operations. Backward on IT/software. Learning & training opportunities seem to be on budget. The most enjoyable part of the job is the family atmosphere. Staff are friendly and look out for each other.

My first experience in a new working environment as a newbie. I learnt a lot from the seniors and it's a nice environment to work in with the support from the bosses and peers.

Not sufficient IT Staff
Analyst (Former Employee) - Singapore - April 28, 2016
There was only one IT Staff in this company. Co-workers are very friendly & helpful. Management was not systematic. Management couldn't have budget to hire more staff.

A carrer oriented office where it gives employees all the chance to advance.
Senior Architectural Executive (Former Employee) - Singapore - February 12, 2016
The work starts with meetings with the technical team for the activities for the projects handled, together with the coordination with Authorities and Contractors. I had learned a lot when I was assigned with Rail Projects. It taught me the technical side of the Rail system, different architectural treatments and material requirements for the below and above ground of the station. It also taught me the different requirements to comply with the authorities requirements. The management gave their employees a fair assessment to advance in their careers. The co-workers are different races but get well along and with this the coordination is much easier and faster. The hardest part of the job is when you are given 2 or more projects to manage and coordinate with. The most enjoyable part of the job is when you are learning new things and participate in the office design forums.
Pros
They are very lax on the time and they prepare activities for their employees to ease stress.
Cons
Due to shortness of staff, we are always working on long hours in the office.
