Great learning experience, only really appreciated the culture after I left. Perpetual sense of crisis leads to challenging goals and drives work ethics every year.

Great Salary but toxic

Great perks and staff purchase. Very hierarchy based. Locals be it management or managers do not seem to be the real decision makers behind the project

No politics but inflexible management

A company good for fresh graduates or career switch. Nice colleagues, basic welfare benefits. Inflexible and frugal management, no chance of career progression. Management change every 4 years

Bad experience i ever had with Samsung Singapore RHQ Office

for Non-Korean, do consider if you want to join, they can pay you higher, but it is not a good workplace, is a toxic cultures. if you hire as a manager, you can only follow Korean BM instructions, no other ideas will accept (don't think that you can always change the culture, it is not possible). If you do not follow instructions, or talented than them, or they don’t like you, they can find a lot of excuses to get rid of you and also your team, be careful!Employer branding, Inclusion and Cultures Diversity only as a show, nothing will happen.Hybrid work as job posted, don’t be happy so early. Only 1 day per week to apply WFH, this will be subjected to management approval.

Pros

Korean or if you can speak Korean, welcome to join

Cons

CUNNING & TOXIC workplace

Service support engineer

repetitive work, back end. The people are nice there and it can get intensive initially due to the price of the parts for the Samsung mobile phones such as LCD

Productive and fun work place

Fun if you love talking to customers and serving them. Make sure you wear sport shoe else your legs will passaway. No sitting allowed too. But commission is insane. Good luck.

Pros

High commission

Cons

Long hours 11am - 9.30pm No sitting allowed.

Racist, Sexist and Ageist

Not a good overall experience within the organisation. Manipulation driven and political environment are not healthy for the mental health and personal growth.

Fun workplace .

Fun workplace with cozy environment . Colleagues are helpful and friendly . The hardest part of the job is to deal with difficult customers but overall still enjoyable as you would get to interact with different people .

Pros

Helpful colleagues .

Cons

It can be quite stressful sometimes .

Good Learning experience for junior roles

Good Learning experience for junior roles with great exposure and opportunities. However, it might be harder to progress further than middle management due to frequent changes of top management which often meant a change of direction.

Challenging and tough

Working in Samsung SDS, you would have to go in with your eyes wide open. You will need to be able to understand how the Koreans think and manage their expectations.

Be careful of some long serving managers who abused their position

Some long serving managers in there abused their position so it's nothing glamous working there. So think twice before leaving your current employment to join them.

Excellent work culture

Samsung C&T Corporation has meant a lot to me. We work 5,5 days a week. Work with excellent culture, fast response and able to multitask is a standard to work with Korean company. The management was steady, all people work with their specialization. Many races in a company make us understand well to respect each other, different culture but we work with same vision. the hardest part of the job, sometimes need to do overtime until 11PM consecutive and have to come office in the morning. Most enjoyable part was we having a snack break, and eat together as a team.

Pros

Excellent work culture

Cons

Long Hours

Expanding my knowledge

Working at Samsung is different every single day, there will be new obstacles each day we go to work which makes it challenging but at the same time let us expand our knowledge of how things work. Lacking in work-life balance as work timing is not fixed and work can end late most of the days and amount of job per day takes up all of our energy for the day. Management wise in the company is considered quite good as there is interactions between higher ups and yourself to discuss on any matters.

Pros

Contract bonus

Cons

Very long hours & too much jobs per day
