Reviews for Physiotherapist in Singapore General Hospital
Busy workplace, good facilities and colleagues
Pros: Clean and friendly environment with excellent clinical facilities; constant upgrading with new buildings and academic research centers. Plenty of room to hone your clinical skills and friendly colleagues. Excellent and economic food with lot of choices from Asian to western. Physiotherapists are well recognized among the clinical team however, there is a room for greater improvement to have a clear inter-professional understanding on criteria for discharge or need for rehabilitation etc. Busy but lively workplace, with the need to do other administrative and project work in spite of clinical work which stretches beyond your work hours. For clinically oriented skilled physiotherapists, the room for career improvement is slow or ill-defined with definite lack of transparency in promotions. There is not a clear path to communicate new ideas and get feedback from the management as sometimes it just dies within the middle tier management level especially if you are not louder. Too many divisions, tiers of management and supervisors who keeps themselves and others busy with meetings mostly for administrative purposes rather than discussing scientific and clinical questions. Poor interdepartmental collaboration between some departments and professionals with each one protecting their domain, instead of improving quality for the sake of patients. I feel it is counter productive in terms of producing clinical quality.
Feels prestigious to work here, good facilities friendly colleagues, good food
You always take your work back home, poor room for promotion for clinically oriented physiotherapists
