Handling & liaising with all levels of people including cleaners, security guards, vendors, contractors, Prof, snr doctors, nurse directors and managers.

Free food and beverages whenever there is event on.

A typical day at work begins with checking my Deputy Director's calendar and scheduling appointments. Then I proceed to undertake an urgent/ad-hoc tasks given before settling down with routine tasks. I have learned to practice critical thinking skills in my various job roles. The workplace culture is fun and vibrant. The hardest part of the job was the travelling time to work. The most enjoyable part of the job was work life balance and 5 day work week.

Fun workplace

There are a lot of good, fun and helpful colleagues. Learnt how to use Microsoft access. Most enjoyable part is I have interaction with doctors which at the same time can be quite demanding.

Singhealth is a shared service company processing monthly payroll for SGH, KKH,Sengkang Hospital, NCC, NDC, NHC and Polyclinics. I have learned a new payroll software and processing payroll for 1000 employees.

One Stop Centre to Service Business Partners

I have 5 years of business development and operations experience with SingHealth as a Clinical Trials Business Development Manager. During my tenure with SingHealth, I was able to contribute to the organization by growing business revenue, assessing potential business partnerships, analyze business performances. I was tasked with an additional portfolio between 2009-2011 to set up an early phase research facility. During then, I was involved in general management of a research facility, that includes review and align operational, financial and HR needs to strategic goals. While overseeing a team of research nurses and coordinators, I was responsible for streamlining job processes and developing a structured career path for staff development and retention, while working with different stakeholders to obtain buy-in. In my previous tenure with Eli Lilly, I was responsible for sales and marketing of the oncology portfolio and successfully grew account sales by 10-20% annually and listed one of the products in a public healthcare institution for first line treatment in lung cancer.

Stepping stone towards furthering my career

SingHealth was an organisation which developed me as an all-round individual. What started off as an administrative role went on to include responsibilities beyond my job scope. I was tasked to coordinate the workplan and budget for the department as well as monitor the balanced scorecard on a quarterly basis. In addition, play an advisory role in the planning of the budget. In the department are a team of exceptional talent where every colleague has a unique character. As such, the team has been top notch when it comes to evaluation of performance. The toughest moments for myself, is when I had to juggle between part time studies and full time work. However, with the support of the team at work, I have managed to balance both work and studies. I thoroughly enjoy being able to work with other departments indirectly as it allowed me to broaden my network and build a strong rapport with staff from other departments. In conclusion, most colleagues see me as a balanced personality, well-fitted into any team.
