Lots of helpful, talented people
Senior Technical Writer (Former Employee) - San Jose, CA - August 2, 2023
I haven't worked there since mid-2020, so don't know how they are doing post-Covid. The transition to all offsite was tough on a lot of people. I think they are still remote-optional and hope they came out OK.

Good product mediocre management
Director (Former Employee) - United States - August 1, 2023
Multiple layers of middle management are all trying to hang on in an environment of increased competition where Splunk is no longer the only player out there. AIOps and DevOps products lag competition. Drive for NNL Is key. WIll they get there? Lots of middle management gives conflicting guidance and makes me think the answer is no

I overall enjoyed working at Splunk. Some of the management decisions felt questionable, but I had good coworkers and felt like I had the ability to get things done.

Not the best
Sales Representative (Current Employee) - New York, NY - July 24, 2023
Splunk was not the best experience. If you like working for a company with low morals and a do or say anything to get a deal company then Splunk is for you.

fun place to work
SDET (Former Employee) - Canada - May 19, 2023
It's a nice place to work. There was no micro-management. Most of my colleagues in this company were friendly. The compensation was good enough to make the employees work hard.

It’s a job
Solution Architect (Current Employee) - California - March 24, 2023
Meh. The company is probably in its way to an acquisition or privatization. Seem lost most of the time and are completely reactive. Not much innovation going on here these days.

Jobs at Splunk
I'd rather work there than be unemployed
Sales Representative (Former Employee) - Remote - February 6, 2023
Here's the deal. Splunk is a good company that offers great pay and has a terrific product. Anyone looking at this company would overall make a good decision. Problem is the product is so expensive most SMBs can't afford it. Which makes the actual deal won percentage very very small. The sales management is made up of all the cool kids and if you're not in “the click” it's pretty obvious you're not getting promoted despite performance. But, it's coming from a former employee so take all this with a grain of salt. My opinion. If you have other tech jobs options, go there
Pros
High commission checks for hitting and exceeding quota.
Cons
Biased management

Great company unless you are stuck with a bad manager.
Senior Program Manager, Splunk Global Security (SGS) IT PMO (Former Employee) - San Francisco, CA - September 13, 2022
Loved the company and culture. It was positive and supportive. Unfortunately, I got stuck with a new and inexperienced manager who wanted to hire her friends and less experience people. So I had to go.
Pros
Great culture, good benefits.
Cons
A bad manager can turn a great company to a bad job.

Best workplace culture since my time in the Air Force
Senior Manager - Assigned Expert (Current Employee) - Global - August 22, 2022
People are encouraged to do their best and they are passionate to do so. With that said, I have never felt like I was in competition with my colleagues and have been supported since day one of coming here.

Great teams to work with
Regional Sales Manager (Current Employee) - Atlanta, GA - November 10, 2021
Splunk has a great culture, nice work life balance, and great collaboration between the teams. However, always changing procedures and sometimes no one really knows what to do internally.

I've met some of the best people I've ever worked with
Confidential (Current Employee) - Plano, TX - October 6, 2021
I have to say the people are what make Splunk amazing. Sure, it's a great product that has a large footprint globally - and it continues to grow & succeed. But the PEOPLE that are hired are by far the best I've ever worked with. Typically sales can be high strung, demanding and overall not pleasant 100% of the time. I've worked in support at Splunk for several years and I've never once had a negative interaction with a person in sales. And I covered globally over the years.....
Pros
Good perks, free meals and stocked breakroom. Supports remote employment
