I worked under HR (L&D). My mentor was patient with me and gave plenty of oppurtunities to try out other HR functions and help out in in-company events. A good learning oppurtunity.

Pros: Management is very welcoming. Plenty of oppurtunities to interact with directors and the CEO.

Internship in SSMC gave me the opportunity to collaborate across departments and have an overview of how an MNC is structured. My direct supervisor was nurturing and open to suggestions. Work-life balance and culture are generally great there. However, the company is slow in IT progression.
Pros
Work life balance, company has a gym and exercise programmes
Cons
IT resourses, limited Wifi access

It is a semiconductor industry. A fast paced environment with everyday ever-changing challenges. Is a high pressured place to work in, the good thing is you will be able to learn soft skills such as communicating and also presentation of work with internal or external customers from different countries with different cultures. There are exposure of working with people from different countries as well.

The hardest part and enjoyable part of the job is learning of working and communicating with people from different country and culture. Is a challenge working with people that you might not seen before. Once you are able to work closely and maintain a good relationship with them, is a form of achievement.
Pros
Variable bonus are quite high
Cons
Long hours of working. Not much work life balance.

I enjoyed my stay during my internship during my stay at SSMC. Every day, I would take a pen and a clean paper and head down to the cleanroom and jot down on the changes and the improvements that can be made. The hardest part of the job was I had to learn nanoCAD in a short period of time.
Pros
$1.50 off during breaks
Cons
Repetitive workscope

SSMC provide a lot of training opportunity to their staff to develop them into expert in their specific area. The organization is normally very lean and staff are expected to perform multiple roles and responsibilities. Environment is very challenging and dynamic. Changes is very common and frequent.
Pros
A lot of opportunity to learn and apply
Cons
Stretch to the maximum
