Reviews about Salary & Benefits for Logistics Management Specialist in U.S. Department of the Navy
Steady job with good benefits.
I usually work with ERP on a daily basis going over orders I need to process and see if there are parts I need to put in a procurement order for. I also review my contractors to see if they have any parts that are coming out of their production lines soon. Management is fairly off-hands, with the occasional last-minute demand for a report or powerpoint. Co-workers...a lot of them need to retire. There's plenty of 55+ people here that are overdue to leave their jobs so younger folks can come in and learn. Otherwise, coworkers are very nice. Some politics here and there...just ignore it. Hardest part of the job is probably trying to find some work to do after you've done your daily tasks. There's only so much work to do with overstaffed departments (which goes back to the 55+ people needing to retire!).
Benefits, job security, easy work, good work-life balance (I get compressed workweeks, 4 10-hour days with Fridays off!!)
At mercy of Congress, mundane work, bad/expensive food at the base cafeteria, annoying little projects with no point from time to time
