Challenging and Highly Political

Work is easy however, you have the risk of people stealing or thumbing down your work, or both. It's a highly political work culture and very clique-ish. Management does not care how to are able to do your work, but if you are able to execute targets on time and what they need. You're at an advantage if you work in Switzerland.

having worked here for so long i say work life balance is good but low pay compared with other banks. management is good, coffee is good in pantry :-)

Busy and one way benefits

The company which cares only the revenue generators and not the helpers who help them to make revenue. Have to get more network and all people have the attitude to help only if they are useful. Low in recognition of senior staffs who have worked for long years. Want to have only new people at the management level and never get local staffs in higher posts.

Biased Management and environment. Low pay. Focus on "CCA" performance and not actual work performance.

Would put a zero star rating if allowed. Only has so-called good brand name which you would soon realize is all a farce after you join. Do not join IB (UBS unwanted child). Join WM (favorite child with all the full employee (free F1 tickets) and company benefits) if you must join this bank. Do not join as a fresh grad junior/entry level analyst. Badly paid and they do not value you (You are always replaceable). Zero employee retention effort. The exact phrase from the HR personnel during my conversion interview when i asked for higher pay was "Everyone has friends who are paid more. Even me. If you are unsatisfied. Don't take this job." And I thought HR are suppose to be on employee's side? Internal promotion to the next level senior exec, termed as AO - Authorized Officer is almost non existent and requires a lot of help from senior management to "make it happen". normal route would take 3-4 years. Just to promote to senior analyst! Source externally better.

Good experience overall. Less Job Security.

Good place to work if , they treat all the employees equally. Job is very good but team is not great to work with. Zero training and 100% productivity is required. As a company is very great to work for, but team and the management really hard to adjust with. Had tough time to work in the team and to gel with, as the team resembled like cliques.Hope that kind of atmosphere is changed now.

Productive and Fun working place

Typical day at work : You wake up wanting to go to work or if you are on holidays most time you dread having to go back to work cause your holidays are up however camaraderie within the team in UBS was such that they are like your other family outside of home. what you learned : depending on at which stage you are at, mine was at the stage where I was in the industry for the last 9 years and was prepare to look to step up and lead a team. management : good your co-workers : best people to work with. there must be trust and knowing that each will take care of the other in terms of work hardest part of the job : when you welcome the challenge there is nothing really hard unless you start to lose interest then everything will start to feel difficult the most enjoyable part of the job : the best part is waking up every morning and wanting to do what you really like doing


you enjoy what you are doing and the extra bonus of getting pay to do it


sometimes when it gets busy you can expect to stay late up till london lunch time

Good place if you are in the right team

Need a network to get ahead otherwise career will stagnate. Performance rewards are not tied to actual performance as performance ratings are based on political needs rather than reality.

Inflexible boundaries for a marketing person

Excellent infrastructure for wealth management and good backup of investment personnel and products. Hardest part of my job was the bad timing of daily outflow of funds and clients due to the bad publicity of heavy losses and the imminent closure.
