Novatek Gas and Power Asia Pte. Ltd. open a position of Oil Products Cargo Operator to join our Liquids Operations team in Singapore.

Background:

JSC Novatek is the largest private owned gas company in Russia. Novatek Gas and Power Asia Pte. Ltd. has been operational in Singapore since 2014.

The Ust-Luga Complex, located at the port of Ust-Luga on the Baltic Sea, serves as a critical facility for processing stable gas condensate into high-value products such as naphtha, jet fuel, and gasoil. Novatek exports and sells these refined petroleum products on the international market. The Liquids division manages this end-to-end process.

We are seeking a motivated, resourceful self-starter to join our Liquids division, focusing on naphtha operations. The ideal candidate will proactively address and resolve operational challenges. The ideal candidate will also be a collaborative team player who works well with other teams and functions to drive results.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To manage all aspects of cargo operations from trade inception to completion of discharge
  • To liaise with all relevant departments in the group, including European and Russian locations, to ensure smooth operations;
  • To liaise with external parties (brokers, agents, surveyors and others) on operations matters;
  • To update the Marketing and Operations managers on operational matters during new deal discussions;
  • To maintain records of each cargo in the in-house business management system (UMIFR) promptly and accurately;
  • To prepare and execute commercial contracts and related documents;
  • To administer post shipment quantity/quality claims and issues;
  • To anticipate and manage issues timely and effectively to minimize costs and cargo delays;
  • To prepare summary post shipment for demurrage process;
  • To execute other duties upon request.

Requirements:

  • Education: University degree in Maritime Studies or related discipline
  • Experience: Between 3 and 5 years’ experience in oil cargo operations or petroleum shipping
  • Good knowledge of crude and/or petroleum product logistics and trading and shipping practices
  • Good knowledge of Letters of Credit and other trade finance instruments
  • Relevant experience in demurrage calculations and claims negotiation
  • Relevant experience in petroleum middle office analysis
  • Willing & available to work after office working hours in case of business needs
