Medical Laboratory Technologist – Genomic Laboratory, Centre for Precision & Genomics Medicine (Contract)
Are you passionate about advancing clinical diagnostics and precision medicine?
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented laboratory professional to join our team.
What You Will Do
You will be responsible for performing clinical testing and routine laboratory operations, supporting quality assurance activities, and contributing to projects in personalised and precision medicine. Day-to-day, you will process and analyse clinical samples, operate and maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure accurate documentation across all workflows.
You will also participate in new test development and validation, internal and external quality assurance programmes, and help improve operational processes and best practices. There are opportunities to contribute to research presentations and manuscripts.
Requirements
BSc in Biomedical Sciences or other relevant disciplines
Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience is preferred; however, fresh graduates with relevant laboratory internship or research experience are encouraged to apply.
Knowledge and experience with standard molecular biology techniques including PCR, sequencing and genotyping
Proficient in basic office applications (Word, Excel etc)
Experience with data analytics tools is desirable but not essential
Working knowledge and experience with basic bioinformatics (Python, R etc) is desirable but not essential
Experience in procurement processes and general lab housekeeping
Meticulous and able to follow procedures
Excellent organizational and data management skills.
Team player with good interpersonal skills
