Full job description
As a Psychologist Associate, he/ she is required to assist in providing an array of psychological services (e.g., administering and scoring selected psychometric assessments, assisting in parent talks and conducting group programmes) to cases within the Child Development Unit (CDU) of the Department of Paediatrics. He/she will also administer developmental assessments and participate in associated activities for a funded research study, supporting the multidisciplinary project team and ensuring compliance with regulatory and protocol requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Research Study
- Administer study related questionnaires and/or assessments to research participants.
- Perform test scoring, documentation and administrative tasks for the duration of the study
- Report significant clinical findings to research team members
- Manage study related data including data cleaning and maintenance of participant records and updating study databases and relevant results
- Manage and maintain study-related equipment as per accreditation standards
- Ensure adherence to study protocol, scope, and regulatory requirements
- Assist in other ongoing research activities within the division including study coordination
- Provide administrative and operational support to other study team members/investigators
- Assist in other division and project-related duties as assigned
2. Clinical Services Delivery
- Administer and conduct appropriate psychometric and developmental assessments for patients referred to CDU
- Interpret assessment results with precision and accuracy, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and guidelines
- Document assessment findings comprehensively in medical record system and provide clear and concise assessment reports
- Formulate and propose appropriate recommendations based on assessment outcomes, in consultation with the supervising psychologist
- Assist in the delivery of psychological intervention sessions, supporting the psychologists as required
- Collaborate with psychologists in the co-facilitation of group intervention programs, ensuring adherence to established protocols and therapeutic objectives
- Assist psychologist in preparing and conducting parent talks
- Coordinate administrative processes by distributing screening or assessment questionnaires to parents, conducting follow-up communications to ensure timely completion of questionnaires, and uploading completed documentation into the designated clinical management system
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
- Bachelor-level graduates with relevant internship or volunteer experience in the area of special needs and/or have prior experience working with children.
- Experience in research projects.
- A resourceful and proactive individual who is motivated to provide a high standard of patient care.
- Able to work collaboratively with other professionals in a multidisciplinary team and able to work independently.
- Good interpersonal skills.
