Executive Chef for Teochew / Cantonese Cuisine
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall kitchen operations and daily food production.
- Lead, manage and develop the kitchen team to ensure high performance and consistency.
- Ensure all dishes meet the restaurant’s quality, presentation and food safety standards.
- Plan staff scheduling and allocate manpower efficiently.
- Manage inventory, stock ordering, receiving and storage of ingredients.
- Monitor food costs, wastage and kitchen expenses to achieve cost targets.
- Maintain proper kitchen hygiene and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Develop seasonal menus, new dishes and improve existing recipes.
- Work closely with management, FOH and marketing team to support promotions and business objectives.
- Ensure smooth communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
Requirements
- Diploma in Culinary Arts, Hospitality or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a senior kitchen leadership role.
- Experience in Teochew, Cantonese or Chinese cuisine is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience in inventory management, purchasing and cost control.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain high culinary standards.
