AVA Wellness Tea & Dessert is looking for a passionate, creative and customer-focused Chinese Dessert Chef cum Sales Executive to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality Chinese desserts and herbal beverages, maintaining food safety standards, delivering excellent customer service, and actively promoting our desserts, beverages, membership programmes and retail products to drive sales.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation

• Prepare a variety of Chinese desserts, herbal desserts and traditional sweet soups according to company recipes and quality standards.
• Prepare herbal teas and wellness beverages.
• Ensure consistency in food presentation, taste and portion control.
• Monitor freshness and quality of ingredients.
• Assist in developing seasonal or new dessert offerings.

Kitchen Operations

• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen at all times.
• Follow Singapore Food Agency (SFA) food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Manage inventory, stock rotation and ingredient ordering.
• Minimise food wastage through proper storage and portion control.
• Conduct daily cleaning and equipment maintenance.

Sales & Customer Service

• Recommend suitable desserts, beverages and retail products based on customer preferences.
• Introduce promotional campaigns, membership programmes and seasonal specials.
• Upsell premium desserts, beverage combinations and gift sets.
• Build rapport with customers and encourage repeat visits.
• Achieve individual and team sales targets.

Retail & Operations

• Assist with cashiering and payment collection when required.
• Monitor product displays and ensure attractive presentation.
• Assist in stock taking and inventory management.
• Support daily outlet opening and closing procedures.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations.

Requirements

• Experience in preparing Chinese desserts, herbal desserts or Asian sweet soups is preferred.
• Experience in cafés, dessert shops, restaurants or food service operations is an advantage.
• Basic food safety and hygiene knowledge.
• Sales or customer service experience is preferred.
• Friendly, enthusiastic and customer-oriented personality.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work weekends, public holidays and rotating shifts.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin is preferred to communicate with a diverse customer base.
