Enterprise Risk

Brief Overview:

The Enterprise Risk team is a second line of defense function within SGX, and supports senior management and the units within the organization to manage the organization’s risks and to maintain business continuity.

Learning Objectives:

The intern will be able to undertake risk management activities in a financial institution such as:

Execution of risk and control programs within the organization
Understanding of the management of third-party risks, technology and infosecurity risks, business continuity risks
Risk analysis, management, and reporting
Business impact analysis
Application of AI-enabled tools to support risk analysis, reporting and knowledge management
Use of automation and workflow tools to improve efficiency of risk management processes
Prompt engineering and responsible use of Generative AI in a regulated financial institution
Data analytics and visualization techniques for risk monitoring and decision-making

Job Description:

As an intern in the Enterprise Risk Unit, you will:

Work closely with external and internal stakeholders (e.g. risk champions, BCM champions) to facilitate review of the Enterprise Risk programs.
Assist with execution of Enterprise Risk Management programs (e.g. risk and control self-assessments, business impact analysis).
Participate in the planning and execution of risk engagement activities to drive risk culture in the Group.
Conduct analysis of processes and controls to identify gaps/areas for improvement and assist with process redesign.
Conduct research and analysis for risk-related matters (e.g. identification and assessment of emerging risks).
Prepare reports to Senior Management and Board/Board Committees.
Leverage AI and data analytics tools to support risk reporting, trend analysis, research and preparation of management presentations.
Identify opportunities to streamline and automate risk management processes through the use of AI, workflow automation and productivity tools.
Support the development of dashboards, reports and automated workflows to improve risk monitoring and data quality.

Knowledge and Skills requirements:

To meet these objectives, you should:

Capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking in a dynamic environment
Able to work independently as well as collaborate with various stakeholders, proactively keeping their seniors on work progress
Good oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft suite (including Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Knowledge and ability to use Data analytics related tools (Python, PowerBI, etc.) is a plus
Familiarity with Generative AI tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT or similar AI solutions) for research, reporting and productivity enhancement is an advantage.
Interest in applying AI and automation technologies to improve business processes and operational efficiency.
Basic understanding of prompt engineering, data quality considerations and responsible AI usage is a plus.
