Overview

Reporting to the Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist, the Medical Laboratory Technologist supports the Tissue Repository by performing laboratory, data management, and administrative activities related to biobanking operations and research support.

Job Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the following:
Bio-banking Operations (60%)

Process blood, cells, and tissue specimens in accordance with SOPs.

Perform cell isolation and tissue handling procedures.

Support the storage and distribution of biospecimens.

Administrative (40%)

Maintain accurate laboratory and sample records.

Perform data entry and consolidation across multiple systems.

Support procurement, audit, and quality assurance activities.

Ensure compliance with laboratory safety regulations and protocols.

Communicate and escalate operational issues as required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Biotechnology, or related discipline.

Preferably with 1-2 years relevant laboratory experience preferred.

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.

Physically able to handle laboratory equipment and materials of up to 10kg.

Good general health and no colour blindness
