Position Description:
At a Glance

Legrand
has an exciting opportunity for a Facility Maintenance Specialist to join the Starline Team in Tuas, Singapore.

The Maintenance Specialist/Engineer will ensure optimum reliability and functionality for Legrand Starline facilities, grounds, manufacturing equipment, and fleet.

Main Job Duties:
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the facility maintenance that needs to be done.
  • Lead the preventative maintenance program. Develops maintenance procedures and schedules, ensures maintenance work, repair work and construction projects are completed.
  • Ensure the facility are well maintained through landscaping contractor and building cleanliness through custodial contractor.
  • Diagnoses mechanical or electrical problems and determines best course of action for correction. Support production in troubleshooting complex machinery failures.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all departments.
  • Ensures all company vehicles are within Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance.
  • Reads and interprets facility blueprints. Orders parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms and maintains spare parts inventory.
  • Manages fire and security systems (off site included.)
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and procedures at all times.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all job requirements meet Legrand standards of safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, 5S and budgetary (tools, scrap, etc.) goals.
  • Responsible for all reporting requirements within the department and any other requests from management.
  • Ability to learn and work all departments, as needed.
  • Additional duties as required by management

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Minimum Diploma or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Work & Height Certified

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Ability to lead team with diverse backgrounds and skill sets
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate vendors and contractors preferred
  • Must be wiling/able to be work & height certified

Personal Qualities/Behaviors:
  • This position will have exposure to the manufacturing areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required
  • Ability to stand, bend and walk for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently
  • This position will be exposed to heights over 10 feet off the ground
  • This position will be exposed to confined spaces
