Role Purpose
The Senior Global Mobility Consultant isresponsible for managing the end-to-end relocation journey for internationalassignees and their families. Acting as the primary point of contact, theconsultant coordinates all relevant services, provides policy guidance andensures each assignment is delivered accurately, compliantly and with a highlevel of care.
The role manages a portfolio of complex,VIP and confidential assignments and works closely with client HR and GlobalMobility teams, assignees, internal service teams and external partners. Theconsultant is also expected to support escalations, strengthen operationalprocesses and guide junior team members.
Assignment and Case Management
Manage international assignments from initiation through completion, including pre-assignment, relocation, on-assignment and repatriation support.
Conduct assignment briefing calls and explain the applicable policy, benefits, processes, responsibilities and expected timelines.
Serve as the primary point of contact for assignees, families and client stakeholders throughout the assignment lifecycle.
Develop and maintain a clear action plan for each assignment, ensuring all services and key milestones are completed on time.
Manage complex, senior executive, VIP and confidential assignments with appropriate discretion and attention.
Proactively identify risks, delays or service gaps and recommend practical solutions.
Service Coordination
Coordinate services across immigration, destination services, temporary accommodation, home search, household goods moving, expense management, tax and other assignment-related support.
Ensure clear handovers and close coordination between internal teams, destination partners, vendors and external providers.
Track service progress and follow up on outstanding actions to ensure a seamless assignee experience.
Review service authorizations and confirm that services are delivered within the approved scope and policy.
Client and Assignee Support
Build trusted relationships with client HR, Global Mobility stakeholders and assignees.
Provide timely, accurate and practical guidance while maintaining a high standard of communication.
Manage enquiries, concerns and escalations professionally, taking ownership through to resolution.
Participate in client operational calls, case reviews and governance meetings when required.
Adapt the level and style of support according to the assignee’s seniority, circumstances and assignment requirements.
Policy, Compliance and Documentation
Interpret and apply client mobility policies consistently while identifying exceptions requiring client approval.
Ensure complete and accurate assignment documentation is obtained, reviewed, recorded and retained.
Coordinate required approvals before services, payments or policy exceptions are committed.
Support compliance with immigration, tax, data privacy, financial and internal control requirements.
Maintain confidentiality and handle personal and sensitive information responsibly.
Financial and Expense Coordination
Coordinate cost estimates, purchase orders, supplier payments, assignee reimbursements and recurring assignment-related payments.
Review invoices and supporting documents for accuracy, completeness and alignment with the authorized scope.
Monitor assignment costs and highlight potential budget variances or additional charges promptly.
Work closely with finance and expense management teams to resolve payment or billing issues.
Ensure financial instructions and supporting documentation are submitted within agreed timelines.
Reporting and Case Administration
Maintain complete, accurate and up-to-date case records in the company’s systems and client trackers.
Monitor key assignment dates, including visa expiry, lease commencement and expiry, temporary accommodation, payroll instructions and assignment end dates.
Prepare case updates, management reports and data for client reviews.
Meet agreed service levels, response times, quality standards and reporting deadlines.
Ensure cases are formally reviewed and closed once all services, payments and outstanding actions have been completed.
Team and Operational Support
Provide guidance and coaching to junior consultants and support their handling of complex cases.
Act as a point of escalation and provide coverage for team members when required.
Share knowledge, best practices and relevant regulatory or process updates with the wider team.
Support the development and improvement of workflows, templates, trackers and standard operating procedures.
Identify recurring service issues and recommend preventive or corrective actions.
Contribute to client implementations, transitions and other operational projects as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, International Business or a related field.
At least 8 years of experience in global mobility, relocation, assignment management, immigration or a related professional services environment.
Proven experience managing international assignments and multiple service streams.
Experience supporting senior executives, VIPs or confidential assignments is preferred.
Strong understanding of global mobility policies, assignment processes and associated compliance considerations.
Experience working with corporate clients, regional stakeholders and external service providers.
Familiarity with case management systems, reporting tools and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
