JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Lab Technologist for our water and wastewater testing laboratory. Candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various analytical instruments and experimental testing according to various standard protocols. Candidates should have minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working in environmental water and waste water laboratories, including technical competency, strong water chemistry knowledge and good laboratory practices mindset.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operating all water analytical equipment like Ion Chromatography (IC), Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICPOES), Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analyzer & lab bench water testing such as Hach and titrations that compliance of recognize standard procedure such as EPA, APHA or USEPA method.
  • To support routine and urgent water analysis requests from internal R&D/project teams, site teams, and external clients while meeting required turnaround times.
  • To support site and project teams by preparing sampling bottles, preservatives, reagents, labels, sampling kits and other materials required for water sampling activities.
  • To ensure all analytical equipment are well maintained by daily operational maintenance, troubleshooting as well as liaising with relevant contractors if necessary.
  • Consistency performs testing quality check to ensure all testing results are delivered correctly as well as support in method verification and method validation and research of different water matrix testing.
  • Interface with lab researchers on sample submissions, job status, testing requirements, and discussion on solution for any discrepancies of the results.
  • Maintain and upkeep all laboratory records such as instrument maintenance records, water inventory records, instruments raw data, SDS and any relevant documents.
  • Actively participate in lab housekeeping, safety inspection and attend safety sharing lead by the safety officer and committee members.
  • Any other administrative work such as communicating with lab supplier, requesting quotation and purchase requisition.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science/Analytical Chemistry, or a related science discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining water analytics instruments.
  • Strong water chemistry knowledge, GLP/QA-QC understanding, and expected competency requirements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and resolve issues independently.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and deliver results within tight timelines.
  • Proactive team player and able to collaborate with the laboratory team members.
  • Good proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
