Full job description
SALT Talent is looking for a Language Manager - Korean Language for our Social Media client. In this role you will build a world-class e-commerce experience and take end-to-end ownership of Korean linguistic quality, user experience, and localization strategy
Responsibilities:
Own the end-to-end Korean language strategy and tone of voice (ToV)
Serve as the primary Korean localization expert for product, design, marketing, and cross-functional teams.
Oversee Korean linguistic quality across all products through LQA audits, in-context testing, and UX design review.
Establish guidelines for Korean honorifics (speech levels),e-commerce terminology, and CJK typography/UI line-breaking standards across iOS, Android, and Web environments.
Leverage AI-powered localization by optimizing LLM prompts, MTpost-editing (MTPE) workflows, and quality evaluation standards.
Build and maintain core language assets, including Korean terminology databases, translation memories, and style guides.
Manage external localization vendors (LSPs), conducting root cause analysis (RCA) on quality issues and providing continuous training
Qualification:
Native-level fluency in Korean with deep cultural insights into theSouth Korean market, and fluent professional English.
Minimum 5 years of experience in translation, transcreation, localization, or related fields, with at least 2 years in a language management, lead linguist, or strategic localization role.
Hands-on experience with CAT tools, Translation Management Systems (TMS), and LQA frameworks.
Proven track record of managing Korean UI localization, including CJK typography, text truncation, and UI line-breaking rules on mobile and web interfaces.
Demonstrated experience leveraging AI/LLM tools for localization(e.g., prompt engineering, LLM output evaluation, MTPE).
6Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to manage complex projects, navigate ambiguity, and communicate effectively across global time zones.
