Locum Medical Laboratory Technologist (Microbiology)

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Locum Medical Laboratory Technologist (Microbiology) to perform microbiology laboratory testing, quality control activities, and instrument maintenance to support accurate and timely diagnostic services

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and procedures in the Microbiology section.
• Investigate pending test reports, abnormal results, and unusual occurrences.
• Conduct quality control (QC) reviews and troubleshoot QC issues when required.
• Monitor and maintain the daily performance of laboratory instruments.
• Participate in internal and external quality assurance programmes, including IQA, EQA, and proficiency testing.
• Support continuous professional development activities, including training and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, or related disciplines.
• Relevant laboratory experience in Microbiology is preferred.
• Familiar with laboratory quality control and quality assurance processes.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with good analytical and communication skills.
• Comfortable to perform rotating shift duties up to 9pm
