Full job description

We are looking for an

experienced Japanese Restaurant Manager

to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Japanese restaurant operations, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high standards of food quality and customer service.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Japanese restaurant.

Lead, supervise, and motivate service staff to maintain high service standards.

Ensure smooth coordination between the front-of-house and kitchen teams.

Maintain high standards of customer service and handle customer feedback or complaints professionally.

Manage staff scheduling, attendance, training, and performance.

Monitor food quality, presentation, hygiene, and overall restaurant cleanliness.

Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety requirements.

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the ordering of food, beverages, and restaurant supplies.

Control operating costs, minimise wastage, and support the achievement of sales and profitability targets.

Assist with menu planning, promotions, and initiatives to improve restaurant sales and customer experience.

Ensure staff are familiar with Japanese cuisine, menu items, ingredients, and appropriate service standards.

Prepare operational reports and provide updates to management when required.

Requirements

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in restaurant operations

, preferably in a Japanese restaurant.

Prior experience in a

supervisory or restaurant management position

is required.

Good knowledge of Japanese cuisine and restaurant service standards.

Strong leadership, communication, and people-management skills.

Customer-oriented with good problem-solving abilities.

Able to manage a fast-paced restaurant environment and work under pressure.

Good understanding of food hygiene, inventory management, cost control, and restaurant operations.

Willing to work

shifts, weekends, and public holidays

according to the restaurant's operating requirements.
