Full job description

Primary Roles:

  • Responsible for providing technical expertise and support throughout the construction project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of construction projects.


Key Activities:

  • Project Planning and Design
    • Assist in the development and review of project plans, specifications, and drawings.
    • Collaborate with architects and design professionals to ensure the feasibility and constructability of project designs.
    • Conduct site evaluations and assessments to identify any potential challenges or constraints.
  • Estimating and Cost Control
    • Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment.
    • Monitor project expenses and track costs throughout the construction process.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering solutions.
  • Procurement and Materials Management
    • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and procure construction materials and equipment.
    • Ensure timely delivery of materials to the construction site.
    • Coordinate material testing and quality assurance activities.
  • Construction Supervision and Coordination
    • Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
    • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and construction crews.
    • Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to monitor progress and identify any issues.
  • Construction Documentation
    • Prepare and maintain construction documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and change orders.
    • Review and approve contractor submittals, such as shop drawings and material samples.
    • Maintain accurate records of project activities, correspondence, and any project-related documentation.
  • Quality Control and Assurance
    • Implement quality control processes to ensure that construction work meets quality standards and specifications.
    • Conduct inspections and tests to verify the quality of workmanship and materials.
  • Safety and Risk Management
    • Identify potential safety hazards and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
    • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on the construction site.
    • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Technical Problem-Solving
    • Analyze technical challenges and provide innovative solutions.
    • Collaborate with project team members to resolve technical issues and conflicts.
    • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving construction-related problems.
  • Progress Reporting and Communication
    • Provide regular updates on project progress to stakeholders, including project managers and clients.
    • Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and suppliers.
    • Address any concerns or issues raised by stakeholders and provide timely solutions.
  • Project Closeout
    • Coordinate the completion of punch lists and final inspections.
    • Ensure proper documentation of project completion, including as-built drawings and operation manuals.
    • Assist in the transition of the project to the client or facility management team.
