Join NHG Population Health as an Allied Health Assistant and be part of a team that makes a real difference in people’s lives beyond hospital wall. Working within our Community Health team, you will provide support to Allied Health Team by taking on coordination, administrative, and supportive tasks that enable Therapists/Dieticians/ Medical Social workers to dedicate more of their time to direct clinical care. By serving as a key point of contact for patients and caregivers, facilitating timely access to services, supporting follow-up and compliance monitoring, and maintaining the operational readiness of equipment and resources, the Allied Health Assistant helps ensure that patients in the community receive consistent, well-coordinated care. The role contributes to better continuity of care and a smoother experience for both patients and the wider care team.


Allied Health Assistant Role Overview

The Allied Health Assistant supports a multidisciplinary allied health team comprising Physiotherapists (PT), Occupational Therapists (OT), Dietitians (DT), Medical Social Workers (MSW), and Speech Therapists (ST) in delivering community and home-based care. The role involves a mix of administrative coordination, patient-facing support, and equipment management to enable therapists to focus on clinical work.


Requirements

The ideal candidate should have

  • At least GCE ‘N’ or ‘O’ level

  • Certificate in Rehabilitation Therapy, Work Study Diploma in Rehabilitation Care, WSQ Care Assistance or other Healthcare or Social Care related certification is preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively to patients, caregivers, and family members.

  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, manage multiple tasks across different disciplines

  • Compassion and sensitive to others’ feeling

  • Prior experience in a healthcare or community care setting is an advantage.

  • Proficiency in English, Mother Tongue language and/ or dialects is preferred to support patient communication.
